Loving her. Some expressed interest in the actress in other topics. I got her page at IMDb and her name is Nancy Opel.

Here's her page so you can see what else she's done and why you might recognize her:

Lucretia

  • I'm enjoying the humor but the consensus is she's not what most of us have pictured all these years. Like with Liza I'll get used to her IF they keep the writing up. Then again this may be her 15 minutes oncamera - don't know if she's invited to L.A. and rarely-if-ever-seen Lucretia may return. eom/WE

yeah...meh...I am not familiar with her from before.  We've seen Lucretia before during 2009,  and I must say I was very disappointed.  She's younger than I pictured her.  I realize this actress is not young-young, but for me, she's still too young.

Lucretia has been an unseen character as long as the Chandler mansion has been in PV.  The unseen Lucretia was discussed in a way that left me to believe she ruled the kitchen.  Over the years, we've heard how she's been with the various Mrs. Chandlers...letting them know what she thought of their menu choices and last minute requests.  She's always been good to the children, though...I pictured Lucretia as feeling sorry for the Chandler children and being severe in her kitchen...but giving them her softer side when nobody else was looking.

So now, since Winifred is gone...they give us Lucretia...but the Lucretia we're given is NOT what I pictured.  This is closer to the mental picture I have had of Lucretia---but she smiles once in awhile!!  (She would NOT be bridesmaid gown material, though...not MY Lucretia...and MY Lucretia would NEVER respond to a bell...she runs the kitchen..she's not the housekeeper or maid):

  • I find it amusing that we now see Lucretia. Making her funny kind of spoils the rules-with-an-iron-fist Lucretia of the last few decades. Like on CHEERS when we never saw Norm's wife. I'll enjoy her but she's not what I pictured either. eom/WE
  • Yes W.E....this picture is not QUITE how I pictured her but closer...I pictured a stout woman...hair pinned up...wearing a full apron....and in CHARGE. Making her funny and responsive to Annie...no...Lucretia's been there so long that she answers to no one and that's okay with Adam...she's so much part of his household and his life that what Lucretia says, goes...! Y'know, like Adam would cater to her culinary artistic temperament and tell his many wives NOT to upset Lucretia..if there's a problem, tell him and HE'LL take care of it..and then Adam goes in and begs!! She's his beloved staff member. But she's soft with the kids...bakes them cookies but limits them as to only a few and never right before dinner! She says it sternly...but with a smile in her eyes...the kids know they can get over on her..and they're ALWAYS kids to her..even JR and Colby are still children to Lucretia. The wives..the Mrs. Adams...she tolerates as Adam's flavor of the month for a few months! LOL. Lucretia is happy in her kitchen. And she doesn't need a 25% raise...she is well and fairly paid...Lucretia would settle for nothing less...or more. She would not accept being too highly paid...she's old school...that may sound crazy in this day and age that somebody wouldn't accept being so to speak overpaid...but there was a time when it was a strict part of etiquette that certain people did not get tipped for services rendered...the tip would be considered to be an insult to them! That's where Lucretia is from...the time when being the cook in a wealthy family was a position of well-compsensated prestige...and so she values her position and its attendant power as much as the money---that's why she and Adam are sympatico....! All these thoughts of Lucretia on a Sunday morning...it's funny to delve into what I pictured her to be and put it into writing. SORAS
  • ...wow, SORAS! That's a grand description of UnseenLucretia! You must tell us more...was she ever married or did she ever have a beau...was she ever present at a wedding before...who's her favorite child/grandchild...what does she do on her day off...what did Adam give her for Christmas...tell us more!...buddz
  • What became of Winifred? Didn't she move in Tad's B&B and then disappear? She was around many years too./goldie
  • I've pictured her just like your picture. I always ''saw'' Lucretia as a domineering and maybe a funny woman (alhough she doesn't mean to be funny) who rules the kitchen. MM
  • Me too!!! Me too!! It is unbelievable how they managed to give us a ''very'' young Lucritia. Good heavans the woman has been in the Chandler kitchen for over 30 yearss, thus makin her push late 50's. Now we have a mid 30 year old that spoils my image . :( eom Suds
