JR is such a mama's boy. He's almost f!ing 30 years old and and he still misses his bed time storys his mommy used to tell him, I mean that annoyng singing of Sunshine, same thing. I understand it is difficult to lose a loved one. There's something wierd about it. I can't pin point it. Thank God for the mute button. Doesn't stupid Dixie know any other songs??
What is wrong with little A? I'm guessing the kid is about 4 and he's babbling instead of talking in complete sentences or answering appropriately when somebody adresses him. Maybe it's normal behavior but I just thiught the kid should be speaking better than that.

JR may be in his thirties but he has rarely ever had more than a couple of months of peace and security in his whole life.
Being torn between Dixie and Adam.
Always hearing his Mother being torn down by his Father and his Father torn down by Tad.
At one point he was enjoying life with Tad, Dixie and Jamie when Tad ups and cheats on Dixie and Dixie drags JR off to Pigeon Hollow to live among strangers for a couple of years.
Little A is the first person in his life that he could love and not feel guilty about showing it to the other people in his life.

Message: 30-ish male here... and totally moved by the Dixie / J.R. scenes. I thought they were beautifully done.

Message: Well he's had a rough little life, born in a storm in a little cabin, hellicopter crash, floating down the river, given away to a nut job on another soap, kidnapped, and worst of all having Babe and JR as parents. I know Babydoll is supposed to be the #1 Mother of the Universe but that is all in Krystal's mind. He couldn't have worse parents.

Message: I had to come back and comment again. When I left the post below, I had not watched the show yet.
Holy crap! The kid was on forever yesterday. He spoke, he moved around, he responded a few times, and he even LAUGHED!! He stared transfixed at DixieGhost when needed, suffered through the ridiculous singing.... Heck, I would have demanded a cookie after all that too! In spite of what I said below, I was actually impressed with Lil A yesterday. For the first time, he actually seemed alive and fully awake. That was a two cookie performance!

Message: Yes, Lil' A has got to be the most annoying little nonacting kid in the history of child actors! Good grief, what's the kid's life like at home, is he caged and ignored? Doesn't anyone hug that kid? I mean when JR picks him up, his body's as stiff as a board and his arms just dangle like he doesn't know how to give a hug!! Get rid of that one and get a new one, what the heck, we're all used to characters being SORAS'd and replaced. The parents should be able to read their child better than this and see he is having no fun! Why sacrifice a child to a crappy soap opera?

Message: I would rather not see Lil A at all than have to play along with this "Lil A is a normal happy kid" farce. The child is always lethargic. He's droopy when they take him to the park, give him gifts, and when they haven't seen him in ages. He acts as if he is surrounded by strangers. Yet they act like he is completely normal. The other day, JR shows up to visit him, A shows no response to Daddy's arrival, then JR sends him off to the kitchen for cookies. They could have just said he was off eating cookies, and spared me another attempt at believing this kid even likes these people who are supposed to be his parents. Watching the little guy spend the day at a crowded bar, all droopy and lifeless was just wrong. All just so we could see the stuffed elephant change hands.
Either SORAS the kid or replace him. The child is miserable and depressed. Let this little boy go off to preschool so he can spend some time with kids his own age and learn how to play and run and have some normal kid fun.

Message: Did anyone notice how Little A cringed when Krystal hugged him? Of course I would have too, but you can tell this little boy does not want to be there, he looks miserable most of the time. Can't his (real) parents see that? they must be on the set. I guess it's all for the money.

One thing you really don't want on a soap is a kid A's age being able to talk 'better'. Years ago on GH there was a kid about that age and he was given to saying things in a clear voice that weren't in the script. I remember that he was going out of the show because the actor playing his parent was leaving. Tony Geary had the job for the moment of entertaining the kid in a house full of actors saying goodbye to the departing character. The kid, having tried to stick a green color crayon into Tony's left ear, after trying to write with it on a couch, told 'Luke' suddenly: "This is my last day here. I don't have to come any more." I was delighted at how that set full of actors managed not to cry out "Hurray!"

I agree with Mistygrace. The loss of a beloved parent always reflects the child in us as we greive through the years.
Now about Lil A. That little boy is depressing. He has no energy, emotion (other than a pout) and appears super board with JR and Babe. Over tha last four years I was hoping he would come around with enthusiam and charm..yet NOT. It's hard to believe they can't find another little guy out there with talent and , at least, a ''little'' appeal.

Message: Soaps tend to hire kids who aren't behaving age appropriately, because it is easier for them to get the work done w/time constraints. ATWT had Daniel looking like a sack of potatoes for YEARS--the kid looked drugged at times, just to keep scenes running smoothly! He was still being carried around by his 'parents' when he was 4 & 5 yrs old, or being held (like he couldn't sit up by himself). Then, as many soaps do, they SORAS'd him to an age where he could be shipped off to boarding school somewhere far away from his parents.
Y&R had Victor shipping Victoria off to boarding school in Europe when she was 6 yrs old. Six months or so later, she arrived back in Genoa City a 16 yr old teen, anxst ridden of course.

Message: It doesn't matter how old a person is. They will always miss a parent that has passed away. JR's best memories are of his mother, & it is nothing wrong to miss those times.
