There he was needling Jake on Thursday that it must be a blow to his ego that his wife is trying to get pregnant by another man.....

I'm a little concerned about David's ego, though. How much self-estime can a man have who goes to all the trouble to make sure he will run out of gas, take a back road in the middle of nowhere, pretend to call a tow truck, just to score sex with a pathetique bimbo? Of course, Amanda is as dumb as a suitcase full of rocks. She could maybe have asked to use the phone herself? Huh, maybe. Jinkies, she could even have called Jake - if she wanted to, that is.

So, who is really more pathetique? Amanda is just stupid, David is really small and sorry. His macinations are really so....weinie.

He went to all that trouble.....why bother?

David is a poor excuse for a parent. He's had his chance. He never gave up on trying to control Babe's life no matter how many times she told him to stay out of it. Now that Marissa is married to someone he hates, he's done with her because he can't control her. He's using Trevor to further his hatred and lust for revenge. What an influence that and his self-pity would be as the child grows up. Amanda and Jake are nitwits but I don't think David even comes close to being a good parent.

David has never had a chance to show what kind of Father he can be, both his daughters were grown women when he met them, thanks to Kwak. He just couldn't understand that they were not children but adults already set in there ways. I would really like to see what kind of Father he would be, he couldn't be worse than the rest of the Fathers of PV./goldie

He couldn't understand or accept that adult children wouldn't want to be controlled? C'mon! He's already said that he has plans for Trevor to follow in his footsteps. I'm not saying the others would be better parents. I can't think of a current parent in PV who is a paragon of parenthood, but David has a very dark and mean side to him that goes way back and has only gotten worse through the years. I pity the poor child who has to learn to live with that. /eom - jinx

I think David's main goal is his hatred of the Martins, I doubt he really wants Amanda, but she and Jake played right into his hands with their stupid lies and schemes and Tad helped. David hates the Martins above all others and I think he is totally enjoying himself. Even though Amanda and Jake aren't much of a challenge since they are both so stupid but whatever, they are Martins.

Had to laugh when Jake said 'you always think you are 3 steps ahead of everyone' and David corrected by saying '4' Peggy

Yeah, ITA, David's obsession is hatred of any and all things Martin. Especially with taking wives away from them. He has become a very miserable excuse for a human being. Taunting KWAK about having another child in her face, so small, and so unnecessary, so cruel. The only time I ever liked David was when he was with Erica. Oddly, She seemed to be a good influence on him, with the whole scar thing and putting his hand in the vise. Good times. That made an impression on him. It actually got him to empathize a bit. Now he only seems to live to inflict pain when ever he gets the chance.
