Overnight David decides to step down and without even consulting the hospital board he names Angie as his successor? I'm not even sure it was overnight given time warps in the valley.
The press is called and voila new chief. Granted Angie more than likely has a perfect record as far as her medical career but even top notch doctors would have to be scrutinized, no? Can it really be that easy? If so I sure hope someone gets a clue about Jesse's shenanigans and ousts him within the hour!
So many stories are dragged out over months and then WHOOSH this happens. Seems the writers are overrun due to the move. Yep that's what I'm telling myself.

Message: Well, what do you expect? It IS Pine Valley Hospital where you can get a 20 minute DNA test, a 4 minute complete lab analysis on what exactly is in a certain pill, and where doctors only need to go to freshman year of college before becoming a world renowned *insert specialty here*. Now where did I put that vodka...?

Message: I can't believe David would give in that easily and not just tell Angie fine and then your husband and all your wonderful friends will be exposed. For David to step down without a fight there must be something he is planning, it is just not like him, except for Angie's word there is no evidence against him, Jake's name is on the bottle. I don't get it.

Message: At our local hospital (smaller college town), the board appoints the new chief of staff, which basically is done on a rotation basis - I think each physician serves a two year term. But the outgoing chief of staff naming his successor? Nope.

Message: Why even have a Board? If the Chief is all powerful, you don't need a Board to make decisions.. Yeeeeeesh!
