As promised, I did the searching. I found these this morning but didn't have time to get this posted til evening.
Tex, I said if it wasn't "whore" then I said perhaps it was "slut" that Jake called Amanda last year around the holidays...and I was shocked...that's why I thought it was one of those harsh words.
It's actually less offensive...it was "hooker" – but I know now that what shocked me was Jake’s next line..he said “she doesn’t disappoint. You know what I mean?” I thought that was horrific to say that about somebody with whom you had a relationship! So that’s what got the more offensive word from Jake into my head. He didn’t use the word I thought he said, but he basically said as much.
Also, David called Amanda a "slut" so I'm giving you the scenes as I said I'd do. Considering what Amanda was like prior to becoming a madonna/blessed-mother type, David calling her something offensive, Jake calling her something offensive...it's all kind of 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Their characterizations were not kind to her at all.

JR: HEY.
AMANDA: HEY.
JR: I’M GLAD YOU CALLED.
JAKE: RUSTY…
JR: WANT TO GET A TABLE?
AMANDA: PLEASE. LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE IS LEARNING THE OTHER SIDE OF BEING KICKED TO THE CURB.
JAKE: IT’S OKAY. I GET IT, I GET IT. I GET IT NOW. I GET IT. FIRST, IT WAS ME, AND THEN AFTER ME, YOU’RE PLAYING HOOKER FOR…FOR JR. I GOT IT.
AMANDA: IT’S OK.
JAKE: HEY, IT’S ALRIGHT. HEY, SHE DOESN’T DISAPPOINT! YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?
{JR KNOCKS JAKE OUT}
Then from January 7, 2009...but I must say in reviewing transcripts quickly, David has really had lots of scenes with choice adjectives for Amanda but here's where he refers to her as a slut:
DAVID: YOU SHOULD GO.
AMANDA: I DON’T WANT TO LEAVE JR ALONE.
DAVID: HE WON’T BE ALONE. HE’LL BE WITH ME. YOU’D LIKE THAT, RIGHT, JUNIOR? SOME QUALITY TIME, JUST THE TWO OF US.
AMANDA: YOU GOING TO BE OKAY?
JR: YEAH. HAYWARD DOESN’T SCARE ME. IN FACT, WE’RE JUST GOING TO TALK ANYHOW.
DAVID: WOW. SOME MESS YOU’VE MADE. LOOKS LIKE YOU HAD QUITE THE WILD NIGHT.
JR: YOU GOT SOMETHING TO SAY, SAY IT.
DAVID: IT’S GOOD TO HAVE THE OLD JR BACK. THE REAL JR. THE WORTHLESS DRUNK.
JR: OH YEAH? I’M THE WORTHLESS ONE?
DAVID: STUMBLING AROUND SOME SLUT’S BOAT, REEKING OF BOOZE, TOO DRUNK TO TAKE YOUR OWN SON TO THE DOCTOR. YOU’RE AN EMBARRASSMENT, JUNIOR, A DANGER TO ANYONE WHO KNOWS YOU. BABE WOULD BE SO ASHAMED.
JR: IF I’M A DANGER, YOU JUST TOOK ONE STEP TOO CLOSE.
So, you are right, Tex..wasn't "whore"...I guess that's the image I got from what Jake said and from what David was pretty consistently saying to her last year when he was paying her to bring down JR.
I actually forgot about Amanda's boat...it's funny to review transcripts...reading Myrtle's lines, Jack's, Reese's...just seeing how many stories were run through.

You're right...I do not want to besmirch Jake by using the wrong word. I didn't think you said "hooker" in your reply to my reply to the many replies (lol) under that topic on David so I thought I best try to find what the correct word was.
"Whore" (I really do hate to keep saying that word) did seem pretty heavy duty for daytime..not that daytime isn't pretty heavy duty anymore! But I wanted to know WHY I recall that I was so shocked that Jake would say whatever it was he said (thus my recollection was the w-word or I thought maybe slut...another gem). I'm glad I searched because my shock remains firmly in place...well the shock effect is now gone. But what he SAID wasn't just the one word...it was the follow up about her never disappointing if you know what I mean comment. THAT is what I found to be so odious, in combo with the less offensive "hooker."
I knew he was drunk...but my opinion of that is, "That's an explanation but not an excuse." I really, really like Jake...he's fun and great in tandem with Tad...they're both very playful, off the wall guys. Thus my utter shock that such a thing would come out of his mouth about a woman he 'dated' and with whom he had had a relationship. I never thought he was with Amanda just for the sex...it wasn't portrayed that way. Maybe he wasn't ready to commit to her...but they nonetheless were a "couple" and to say that about her...even drunk...thank you JR for punching him!
btw I do not recall that it was JR's comment that caused her to be with David in the first place but I am sure you are correct...I thought it was just that Jake dumped her and she was jealous of/upset over Taylor.
ITA that Jake always liked Amanda's fun, quirky ways. Hey, if she loves the guy such that she can forgive him for what he said when drunk, then that's her thing. It's a shame, to me, that he busted on Amanda when he was really upset with Taylor...or the Taylor/Brot situation. But they're a good, loving couple now and Jake has certainly redeemed himself with her over and over again. He's a good guy.
I didn't cut and paste the dialogue because it's funny, the transcripts site I use and I'm sure you know there are several...you can cut and paste to Word, for instance...but I cannot cut and paste to this board. I can cut and paste other things...includuing photos...from sites to this board...but I cannot cut and paste from the transcripts site. Odd....
Yes, enjoyed discussing this with you like adults...who watch a sometimes crazy soap every day and then post on an internet discussion board about it! LOL...speaking only for myself...there are those among my family and friends who would question that my watching AMC going into my 31st year is very adult of me!!
I've been out of work for 4 months now..I think I'm getting a job soon...I won't have time to do that transcript hunt again so this was fun for me to go back and satisfy my curiosity.
Jake WAS really nasty to her, and apologized more than once for his hateful, hurtful attitude with Amanda. At the time, not only Jake, but David and JR said awful things to Amanda. In fact, her overhearing JR saying nasty things about her is what caused her to have her drunken one night stand with David!!
As for Jake's going back to Amanda, I think that he always liked her wild, unpredictable ways...and liked her. After Taylor dumped him (thank the soap gods!!!) I do think that Jake would have resumed his sexual relationship with Amanda...but then he found out she was pregnant, and that caused him to look at her with different eyes. And then began the process of falling truly, deeply, madly in love with her.
It IS nice to have a disagreement and discuss it as adults, isn't it?

TEX!!..I went back to the original topic where we discussed this and I see that you added more after I last posted...
Did you look this up, too?? Or did you actually REMEMBER that he called her a hooker...I'm thinking you looked it up, too!!!

ITA and I say in this post that hooker is not as offensive as whore...but how about when he said she's JR's hooker now and she doesn't disappoint if you know what I mean...now that's ROTTEN.
I don't know when he apologized to her..I vaguely recall his doing so. I know he was drunk...but you know what they say, "In Vino, Veritas."
Seems to me that Jake didn't feel much of anything for Amanda until (1) Taylor dumped him and (2) he learned Amanda was pregnant. Without those two factors, Jake wouldn't have gone back to Amanda.
I don't doubt he loves her now and loved her as the pregnancy went on, etc.
I never doubted that she loves Jake..she dug him from before...then he dumped her. And then spoke to her like this. In public.
I would find it VERY hard to forgive a man who said anything like that to or about me...drunk or not. So she must love him a lot to accept his apology when what he said was loathsome.
btw..I really like Jake so lest you think otherwise, I like Jake a lot.
