...the three black kids and the Latino that went to the white girl's party? Okay okay but come on. We complain when the cast isn't diverse enough then they go overboard. Colby has no white friends or so it would seem none close enough to invite to her party.

While I'm at it, didn't Colby learn anything from her sixteenth birthday party debacle other than she doesn't want to discuss it? She's getting drunk, check. Making out, check. I guess the next thing is to sleep with some guy then get behind the wheel of a car. Great story telling writers.

I did notice but knew better than to post such an observation. Seems TPTB can't win for losing. They give us a diverse cast then don't handle it the way WE see fit (lol).

Although the guests did stand out for me I was much more concerned, as you mentioned, with Colby not learning from her past mistakes. They even talk about her 16th yet she goes on to drink and possibly make worse mistakes at the time she's of legal age?? Thought there was a good reason for the recast but I'm just not seeing it.

I agree. The old Colby could have played these scenes and basically did for the 16th party. The new girl isn't bad but I saw no reason for the change. Ambyr was fine in the role and since she's been gone I haven't seen anything she couldn't play as good or better than the new girl. eom/Joe

I guess it just goes to show how much I  have changed over the years.  There might have been a time when I would have noticed, but I guess I'm getting more and more colorblind in my old age.  I really didn't notice.  ... and that's a good thing.

I'm right there with you. All I noticed is that they are setting this up for Colby to be in big trouble again because of her drinking. eom/CaroleA

I love her friendship with Cassie and Dre. What made it obvious was adding never before seen characters. The girl was black then when the Latino boy showed up it was just obvious, to me, that Colby was the only white. I realize my question might have sounded mean. Honestly, I was trying to be funny and for that I'm sorry. I wouldn't have noticed either had it just been Colby and her close friends, Cassie and Dre.eom/Joe

Not a race issue. Yes they can be diverse just wondered why none were white. According to those below I now have issues and shouldn't post here because they say so. Maybe they have issues and should take a break. Just thought it was odd that the writers didn't make it diverse enough I guess.eom/Joe

Why must he have issues because he noticed something and spoke about it? This IS the forum to discuss AMC and everything one feels they wish to discuss. Joe noticed something the rest of us didn't OR didn't wish to comment about for reasons obvious by the responses. eom/La

It's not just this topic. The board POLICE have been chastising all over the board. Maybe they think they have that right but it's best to ignore. This board is starting to drown is posts from various, unrecognizable names... all making polarizing, offensive (such as the original one here), and/or so-incoherent-it-has-to-be-deliberate statements. It's getting easier all the time to see which ones (as different as they try to make the various posts) are the same individual.

I know the board administrators may not care, as it makes the board seem more active - though artificially so... But anyone with half a brain can tell when it becomes this obvious. And it definitely makes this board less attractive to those of us who actually are who they say they are, and who are here for an intelligent discussion.

Unfortunately, nothing makes me happy about the board becoming overrun with bogus, flame-bait posts. I must have some voice to have come across as yelling, or to be told I'm ''taking people to task'' because I might have posted things other than ''I totally agree'' elsewhere on the board. But, at the risk of sounding like I'm taking you to task, I don't think it makes any sense to suggest I'M a troll considering that I'm lobbying for people's actual log-in usernames to be posted alongside their messages. (''YurSoakinginit'' is in fact my username... and by the way, congratulations on getting a log-in name as short and simple as ''Joe.'') I definitely wasn't taking to task anything regarding a ''Colby has nothing but ethnic friends'' statement here, especially since I believe that was more incendiary than it was sincere. I'm just expressing my concern that this AMC board has been increasingly going in a poor direction, especially during the past month, for the reasons I stated. ~Soaker
