Holly, I have been away for a few days so I just noticed this topic. I just want to say that I don't see anything wrong with discussing religion. It's a very interesting topic, just like politics or anything else.

As for myself, I am not really influenced by any religion. I hope that there is a loving God, but I'm just not sure.

Holly, I don't mind answering your question. I am a Christian, a follower of Christ. I don't like to call it a "religion". I (and other Christians) like to call it a "relationship". A relationship with God. I would just like to say that many Christians have developed a bad reputation. They are labeled "judgmental, holier-than-thou, hypocrites, and other things, but that's not the way it should be. A Christian, IMO is someone who follows Christ, believes in the trinity, and tries to live their lives as Christ would want us to, fellowship, studying the bible, ministry, and helping others. My church is awesome, it's non-denominational, and non-judging. Everyone is welcome, or as it says on the church website, "Baggage welcomed". It doesn't matter who you are, what you do, what you look like, God loves you and wants a relationship with you! I am a true testimony on how God has changed my life since my divorce.

Holly, I don't follow any organized religion, although I was born a Catholic. I believe in Jesus Christ. He, and only he, brought the light of God into the darkness of humanity.

Holly, I think the board had this discussion somewhere up above and most people seemed to agree that one's religion or lack thereof was a personal matter.

  • Isn't the whole pupose of this board to discuss personal matters? When did religion become a banned topic?
  • It's not a 'banned topic,' Holly, but most people like to keep their spiritual lives private, and that was made pretty clear on the topic Kenara mentioned. // Shea
  • It's a personal board as opposed to a soap board where only that show can be discussed. Any subject is open for discussion but some are considered none of anyone's business. Your topics always seems to stir DL so why would anyone take you serious knowing you will make a mockery of their response IF it doesn't appeal to you? Every one of your topics and responses are the same way. eom.
  • Aren't political views considered to be a personal topic too? Like that old saying, don't discuss politics and religion? And yet, this board is very open to discussing politics (as long as it's Democratic and Liberal). I don't understand what the big deal is. /CG
  • They wan't tolerance for themselves, but not anyone else. DL
