He was such a great ballplayer. He died of a brain tumor and was only 62. RIP Bobby!!

I met Bobby once. He truly was a nice person. I'm a die hard Yankee fan and watch every game. He did make a short comeback this season. He didn't look well, but did look and sound happy. I miss him very much.

He played a few seasons for the Cubs in between his stints with the Yankees, and he was greatly loved by Chicago fans during that time.  I know I was pretty crazy about his wonderful personality and love of baseball.   

So sad to lose him so young.

    Martin was very sadden to hear about his passing.   I don't really follow baseball but there were players that I even knew about and he was one of them. 

    It was very good to hear today's players talk so fondly of the man.
