My nephew is having trouble with his memory card for his digital camera & I was wondering if someone here might have an idea on what he could do to fix it. He said he can see the pictures on the camera when he uses the review button but when he tries to add the pictures on to the computer it will not add them. He has asked someone at Walmart & that person told him he thinks there is somethine wrong with the memory card. He is so disappointed that he might not be able to get the pictures printed & we are keeping our fingers crossed that someone may have an idea on what to try. Has anyone ever had trouble with their card before, or if you have any ideas on what we could try, I sure would appreciate any help on this. Thanks so much in advance.

Message: The same thing happened to me one time and my computer said it was corrupted.I put it away in a little plastic envelope, thinking I would look into it but I forgot it.Now, I’ll take it to a camera shop like vg did. I wonder what makes that happen. I'll be sure to ask them when I take it in.

Message: Further to what vg has suggested, I also think a good camera shop should be able to get the photos off that card and reformat it. Keep trying. Even if THEY can't, ask if they know who CAN.

Message: Karen, this happened to us with a 4 gig memory card that we used to take all of our pictures in Israel last year. You can imagine our horror at not being able to upload the pictures, though they were viewable on the camera. Our camera handbook informed us that the memory card was corrupted. My husband took the card in to Japan Camera and they were able to make a CD and we could then upload the pictures to our computer from that. We've since been using the same memory card with no problem ... it uploads to the computer just fine. We have no idea what happened before, but it was not a permanent problem, and we were able to work around it. I hope your nephew has the same success.
