It was about a woman who got attacked by a 200 pound chimp. The animal ripped her to pieces ripping her face and hands off and she survived and she's totally disfigured. It was so sad. I had nightmares last night. It bothered me. I felt so bad for her.
She was watching a friend's pet chimp and it got loose. When the friend arrived she saw the horror of the animal attacking her friend. Personally I would have got a gun and shot the animal attacking her or stabbed it. Maybe it would have saved some damage?
Her face was so disfigured. She had no eyes. She lifted her veil for Oprah. One of the worst things I have ever seen in my life.
Chimps should be nobody's pets in their homes. They are wild animals and belong in zoos or in it's natural enviornment.
Anyone see Oprah yestarday?

She mentioned something about tabloids having a bounty for a picture of her face, and she wanted to do it on Oprah, on her terms, and so they wouldn't get the money...
And for warning people about the dangers of exotics as pets...
it was very disturbing to see.

Message: I really pray for this woman and that she will find the best surgeons out there to reconstruct her face. What a horrible thing to go through! I've seen a couple other shows where somebody has been disfigured and they've had reconstructive surgery and it's amazing what they can do nowadays. I'm praying this woman will get the best. People should NOT have wild animals as pets! This chimp should've been placed out in the wild, a zoo, wild animal park or whatever years ago! And I agree, Oprah exploited this woman. Shame on her!

Message: Oprah clearly exploited this poor woman, all in the name of ratings and money. Oprah doesn't care about the person she is interviewing, she cares about sensationalism and getting her name anywhere and everywhere. The woman said early in the interview that she wears a veil because she does not want others to see her face. So what does Orca do? She pursuades this poor woman to take it off. Why? So people will remember that this woman was on HER show. I never have Oprah in my home, but I was in a nail salon, and they had their TV tuned to it, otherwise I would never have watched it. And in fact I avoided most of it by looking elsewhere.

I didn’t watch Oprah but they showed it on some news show.It was awful.I would think they are going to try to reconstruct her face.Did they say anything about it?Or also they could transplant a new face on her like they did with a couple other people. I think I remember when that happened.

I didn't see it. I had my own chimp incident many years ago, and I don't really like to think about it too much. Chimpanzees are adorable when they are little, but once they reach puberty they are nasty, manipulative, and definitely not an animal you should treat as a pet.

This is a Horrible, Horrible Thing, B.
Unfortunately, it happens. Same things happened a couple years ago in California, in Bakersfield. It became known as ''The Bakersfield Chimp Episode''
And then that Wizard Guy that got eaten by his pet tiger at the circus - and also that crazy alligator guy that died because he got eaten by an alligator.
There was a recent story about a baby getting killed by a pet snake somewhere.
I love animals. I have Yellow Lab Puppy named Gracie who is my Angel.
But dogs and cats are different...Man wasn't meant to fool around with WILD Animals imo.

I didn't see it on TV, but I did see it on-line and it had some still pictures of the woman on Oprah. I have never seen anything like it in my life! it seems to me that with the advances in plastic surgery that they could have at least made her face look like a real face instead of like it looks! I feel so absolutely horrible for this poor woman! They had to take out her eyes so she will never see again, but I really wish they could help her a little more! She is lucky to be alive, that is something good at least. Poor, poor woman. Sometimes things happen to us and we wonder why....can you imagine how she must feel?? This is one of the most terrible things I think I've heard about in a very long time......so tragic........

I record her show daily and will watch if i like the topic - i wasnt sure about this one but my mom watched and told me to check it out... I kept waiting for Oprah to ask her how she felt about her ex boss/friend but i guess it was part of the deal to withhold any questions about it probably because of the pending lawsuit.
I remember another Oprah show where she interviewed a woman whose boyfriend shot her in the face. I am always amazed at the incredible resiliency of the human being. You would think this woman would be full of hate and vengence after what happened and yet she is very down to earth and at peace with herself. I found this to be true with many other victims of horrible circumstances. A friend of mine was badly injured as a passenger in a terrible car crash where her boyfriend was driving drunk and i thought she'd hate him for it but she holds no grudge and to this day is one of the most optimistic people i know.

I chose not to watch having seen the reports for weeks after it happened. The owner of the chimp did try to save her friend but was also guilty of giving him a drug that had this bad effect.
I caught a glimpse of the poor lady and knew I couldn't watch.
