Topic: What will you do with your economic stimulus tax rebate?

Additional Comments:

We got ours today.  I'm thinking the best way to stimulate the economy may be to donate it to the Democratic Presidential candidate.  Why so many middle class people in this country continue to think the Republicans give a rat's patootie about them is beyond me.

What will you do with yours?

  • There are some lovely B&Bs down there. We stayed at one a few years back. Just great, and we could walk to downtown. // Shea

I just paid my homeowners insurance last week so I’ll put it back into my savings account to make up for some of it.  When I get extra money I never really spend it at the time.  I just buy things when I happen to want or need them.

Well, I was thinking what would screw over Bush the most - blowing it on meth from Mexico?

So we decided to pay down the credit card debt and take some of the interest out of the hands of Bush's friends in the banking business.

  • I think that should be a priority for anyone with debt. What they charge for credit card interest is usury. // Shea

I think we'll send it back to the IRS.  We're getting taxed on it next year, so we might as well get a head start.  : )  Seriously, we'll probably use it to pay taxes or credit card debt.  No treats planned for us.

  • Great idea! Remember when Bush gave us $200 in his first term and then we had to claim the next April? A-hole! (KOP)
  • And yet there he was back again for another 4 years. Amazing. // Shea

  • Sssshh. Don't let my appliances hear you. They've been behaving so far. Maybe a new dryer would work for me, though. // Shea

This year I got to re-roof the house, so that money goes with the rest I saved up.  It will employ some people with a couple days labor. I'm doing my part for the economy.  hee hee.

  • At what they are charging for reroofing these days, it will pay for a package of shingles. LOL. // Shea

We are using it to get the outside of our home repainted. It's not going to help the economy, but it came at good time.

  • But you are helping the economy - you have to buy the paint. You're doing your part! LOL - kimipaggz
  • We're getting the outside of our home repainted as well! Not only are we buying paint, we're paying local painters. /Genie
  • It's the best time of year for house painting. Dry and not too hot. // Shea
