I am so sick. My head hurts, and I can't breath through my nose. I feel like my head is going to explode. I have been at home all day locked up in my room pretty much. So, since I will never fall asleep I just came up with some questions.

1. When was the last time you were sick?

2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year?

3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick?

4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend.

5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed?

Thanks for answering these. I know they're not the best. I'm bored, and I'm sick. I'll probably be home all day tomorrow too.

My answers:

1. Other than now I don't remember when I was sick last. I've been realy healthy till now.

2. Well, I don't use too many sick days at work. I only use them when I have to. So, I guess maybe 3 or 4.

3. I don't work if I'm sick. I work with food and I don't want to contaminate the food and get others sick. I really wish others at work would do the same.

4. I love Chicago, was born and raised here in the suburbs so I would never move anywhere but since this is pretend it would be Milwuakee, Wisconsin. I just like it there.

5. I am currently wearing a black Edward Scissorhands T shirt and black and white plaid jammy bottoms. To bed I usually wear an oversize t shirt and jammy bottoms.

Poor (((Miss Bear)))  I think being sick in the summertime is worse than any other time of the year.  You and Rob must have the same thing.  He woke up sick yesterday too.  Fever, sore throught, chills.  He missed his first day of classes and will probably be resting for a couple of days.

Take care of yourself, drink lots of fluids and rest!

1. When was the last time you were sick?   May.  I got a virus

2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year?  I have 10 sick days, sometimes I use them all.  Sometimes I've carried days over.

3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick?  No and they don't want me there.  It isn't appreciated or looked of favorably to bring your germs to work.

4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend.  I'm not sure where, but I would love to have a house on the beach.

5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed?  I'm still in my nightgown.  It's a leopard print.  I woke at 4:30 this morning.  I intend to try to catch a bit more sleep after I finish replying here.

Thanks for the questions.  They were fine, and fun!  You take it easy today and I hope you feel better.  If you can't sleep, maybe you should try and take Tylenol PM.  It help me when I'm sick.

  • It sounds like what he has is worse. Sounds like he has the flu. You work in a school so it's understandable they wouldn't want anyone comming in sick. I work with food and don't come in if I'm sick. -Miss.B

    1. When was the last time you were sick? I few weeks ago, I ate some bad sushi. I have been sick for awhile, due to my drinking, but those days are over, I hope.

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year? Usually, not to many, maybe two. Last year was unusual, since I had to do 28 days in Rehab. My employer thought it was due to severe anemia, which I did have. But my problems were all alcohol related.

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick? Yes.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend. I would love to live in San Francisco.

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed? I am wearing a long white skirt and a purple top. When I go to bed, I usually wear pajama bottoms and a t-shirt.

Thanks for the fun! May you all have a safe and blessed day.

    1. When was the last time you were sick?  I was pretty sick for most of 2009.  Since then, I've felt great!

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year?  I don't work (as they say, "outside the home").

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick?  When I worked I was pretty good about staying home when I was sick.  I hated it when people came in sick--they thought they were such heros, but I always caught what they had.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend.  Well, I'd never really move--I love it here in western Washington.  But, for "just pretend" how about the south of France (never been, but I hear it's wonderful)?   And I'll join valleygirl in Hawaii for the winter.

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed?  I'm wearing jeans and an old, sort of fuchsia-colored sweater.  And pink slippers.  To sleep I wear a nightgown.

I hope you feel better soon, Miss.Bear.  Summer colds are no fun!

    1. When was the last time you were sick?  I had a horrendous cold when we went to Israel in November 2008, exacerbated by jet lag, daily exhaustion and kidney cancer.

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year?  Years ago when I worked in an office I would take the ten allotted days ... use it or lose it!

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick?  My work now is volunteer and the nursing home requests that you do not come in if you feel ill, so no.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend.  I can't move now ... Wendi is moving in next door!

Seriously, we have considered moving to the west coast, specifically the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.  It is the nearest thing we have to California in Canada.  And since we're dreaming, I will throw in a winter home in Hawaii.

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed?  Right now?  Light gray sweat pant capris and an oversized turquoise GAP t-shirt.  To bed?  Not a stitch.

    Thanks, Miss.Bear!

  • Okay, forget about keeping the house in Florida, I'm wintering with you in Hawaii! //Wendi
  • No, keep it ... variety is the spice of life! Now shift over and make room for Kenara. ...valleygirl
  • The three of us should have a great time! eom/Kenara
  • Can I come too? I would love to experince warm weather in the winter.-Miss.B
  • We could paint the town red and you could capture it all for posterity with your new camera, Kenara! Sure you can, Miss.Bear ... as long as you're not sick! ;-) ...valleygirl
  • Why do I have the feeling some of those photos could get us in a little bit of trouble ... but that's half the fun, right? The more the merrier! And you're sure to be well by then, mb. eom/Kenara

So, since I will never fall asleep I just came up with some questions. I'm sorry you're under the weather, Miss.B.  My sis suffers from horrible sinus infections.  That's what this sounds like.

    1. When was the last time you were sick? I had an ear infection last summer.

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year?   Maybe two, and they're usually mental health days.

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick?   Sure.  Just not when I'm contagious.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend.    I've always thought I'd like the Boston area.  Chicago appeals to me, too.  Just not sure I could take the winters in either area.  I'm lately in love with Charleston, SC, so I'll say that.

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed?   Right now, tan capris, a light peach sleeveless blouse with a ruffle down the front, and tan sandals.  We're renovating our offices, so this summer we are very casual at work.  I sleep in panties.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.  If you're not better in a day or two, please see a doctor.  If you have some type of infection, you may need antibiotics to get rid of it.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Mental health days? You can do that?.....I felt so horrible last night. I felt like death. I think I'm starting to get over it but I still feel icky.-Miss.B
  • I'm glad you're feeling better. No, I can't really do that, but yes, I do that. Like many companies, mine has done away with the distinction between sick days, vacation days, bereavement days, etc. Instead, I get 20 paid days off a year to use as I see fit. The only time I'm not required to give notice I'm taking time off is when I'm sick, so if I wake up sick to death of my job and everyone there, I call in sick. That's a mental health day, and yes, I probably do it once or twice a year. I figure it's better than killing someone at work, LOL. //SqueezeMe

Sounds like you may have a summer cold. They are the worst - feel better soon.

    1. When was the last time you were sick? I don't get sick often so I honestly can't recall.

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year? My schedule is different from most so that rarely comes into play. Again I can't recall how long ago I took a day off due to feeling under the weather. It doesn't really happen for me and I don't get sick days (lol).

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick? If I wasn't feeling well near a production I'd go and deal with it.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend. I'd love to live somewhere that had a view of water (lake or ocean) and a golf course. Yeah baby!

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed? I normally wear a T shirt and pajama bottoms and that's what I'm wearing right now. Off to shower and then see Poopaloop in her summer showcase.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Throw an extra 'brava' Poopaloop's way, from moi! Please and thank you. ...valleygirl
  • Who's poopaloop? Why do you call them that? You're another lucky one who doesn't get sick often. I hadn't been taking my vitaimins lately :(-Miss.B
  • Thank you vg - she did wonderfully. Miss Bear Poopaloop is my grandniece Amanda. I nicknamed her that in a game when she was about TWO (now she's 12) and I only use it here for fun. She's aware of the nickname as every once in a while I say it and she remembers the day it began. Princess Poopaloop and I was Queen Flippy from Purple. That's my story. eom/WE

    1. When was the last time you were sick? A few years ago with a bad cold.

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year? Not working anymore. I didn't take off many when I was though.

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick? If I was really sick I wouldn't go but if a cold was starting I would go in and if I began to feel sick I'd leave.  My boss at one juncture called me in his office and said he feared getting something and told me that if I had a hint of not feeling well to not come in.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend. In New York City near Central Park.

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed? Jeans and a black top.  To bed, I usually wear a big sleeveless shirt.

  • There's no point in staying at work if you're sick and going to get everyone else sick. I still remember about a year ago at work we had an epidemic in my department. I have about 17 people in my department, about 14 out of 17 people, myself included got sick all within a month.-Miss.B

I hope you start to feel better soon... remember to have some chicken soup... clear out those sinuses... thanks so much for thinking of us tho and posting questions!  hang in there!

    1. When was the last time you were sick?  fortunately I can't remember

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year?  0.  I've been here 2 years and I've only taken 2 sick days... I had strept throat and a sinus infection... it was the day Sulley landed the plane in the Hudson River... I was sleeping on the couch and woke up to see that breaking news... I was very confused.

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick?  If its just a cold and I can manage, sure.  I'd rather save my time for days when I can actually do something.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be?  If finding jobs was easy enough, I'd love to move to a small mountainous town... have plenty of land, a huge porch/deck, a 3 -4 car garage for Bob ... neighbors, but not too close... Even if you would never move just pretend.

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed?  summer dress, white sweater and sandles.  sunny today and mid 80's... should be a nice day... time to start my weekend list of things to do... finally a weekend I'll be home!

  • forgot last question, to bed its a very light weight knee length nightgown. Winter I'll wear tops and bottoms around the house but when I get into bed, I take off the bottoms. - kris
  • Hey kris, I do the same thing, I find I sleep better without pajama bottoms on. I think it's because I can't sleep without covers so I stay cooler without the bottoms. //Wendi
  • I know I have to sleep with jammy bottoms on or my legs will itch. You're lucky you don't remember the last time you were sick. It must mean you've been real healthy.-Miss.B

Sorry you're feeling so bad Miss B. Drink plenty of fluids and get lots of rest. Hope you feel better soon!

    1. When was the last time you were sick? About 2 years I think. I used to brag that since my son was born I never got sick, which was pretty much true, but the flu finally hit me (all of us actually) a couple of years ago, now I don't brag anymore.

    2. How many sick days do you normally take off from work a year? We don't get sick leave anymore, unless you're out for three or more days with a doctor's note. Any less than that and you have to use vacation time. Good deterrent from calling in sick when you're not really sick. And since I rarely get sick (I'm not saying never!) I hardly ever take sick days.

    3. Do you ever go to work when you're sick? If it's just the sniffles, yeah, I'll go in. But if I'm really sick I'll stay home.

    4. If you were to ever live anywhere where would it be? Even if you would never move just pretend. Canada. I love Canada. I'd move in next door to valleygirl!

    5. What are you wearing now? What do you normally wear to bed? Right now wearing khaki slacks and a navy blue blouse. I wear pajamas to bed, usually a sleeveless top (to stay cool) and pajama shorts or light pants.

    Thanks for the questionys!
