This is Halloween this is Halloween........

Here's the last part of my spooky questionys.

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?

4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?

5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?

6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?

My answers:

1. The scariest scene in a movie I have ever scene was in the 'Exorcist'. The statue with those bloody horns was pretty freaky. The hypnosis part was scary.

2. My least favorite thing people would put in my bag was coins. I hated that. I had people throw pennys or nickles in there. Also those candys with the orange and black wrappers. Those were awful. My favorite was getting Snickers or Butterfingers.

3. I like to watch 'Nightmare Before Christmas' or 'Halloween' on Halloween.

4. If I watch something scary I'll have spooky dreams. I've had nightmares about the Exorcist before. More recently I had this real wierd dream. I was going into a haunted house with the Scooby Do gang.

5. I won't be home Halloween night so I won't be handing out candy. My dad bought a bag full of mini candy bars like Kit Kats, Reeses, Hershy's, Almond Joy. That's what will be handed out but not by me.

6. No partys for me :( Going to be working till 10. They usually have candy at the front desk for everybody.

Okay I'll play. Trick or Treat everyone!

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?  The pool scene in Poltergeist! Eee Gads!!!!

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Money  Favorite thing?  Butterfinger and Reese's.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?  Not really, other than Charlie Brown.

4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?  I think we all have dreams about being chased or in public with no clothes or something like that, but the absolutely most frightening dream I've ever had was recurring. Right after 9/11. Terrorists were hunting us down IN MY HOUSE. We hid in the attic.  I woke up sweating and panting I was so @#$% scared.

5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?  Alot of homes in our area give out chocolate, most of them do in fact. So this year I bought those little packets of powder and you eat it with a candy stick (can't remember the name right now). I also bought goofy gummy lips.

6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?  No. We had a potluck here at work today, but that's it.

Happy Halloween!!!

  • Hillary, I'm sure your happy about what you bought to give out to the kids, but I know a lot of Moms are not going to be happy seeing that powder. I never liked any of that stuff, especially the one in the straw. Too messy. I always tossed it or wouldn't let the kids eat it in the house. izi
  • What powdered candy are you talking about? I don't remember getting powdered candy. I might have but just forgot......I was just watching Poltregiest the other night. That pool scene with the corpses was really spooky.
  • Miss Bear it isn't a powder, it's sugar and it's messy. izi

I'm quite late to the questions, but had to reply anyhow.  Hope you are well Miss Bear!

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?

The scene near the end of Signs when you see the reflection of the alien holding Mel Gibson's son in his arms in the television screen and Mel turns around and realizes that he is there.

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?

Apples-ugh.  They were usually bruised and not caramel or candy coated.  My favorite thing when I was a kid was a neighbor who always gave out small bags of potato chips.  That was a real treat for us because we rarely had them in our house.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?

I always like to catch Night of the Living Dead and I love Halloween 3:  Season of the Witch.  I also wish they would show more of the classic horror movies instead of the modern slasher kerap.  I love the Wolf Man and The Mole People and Creature From the Black Lagoon.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?

Lots of times.  And some I am convinced were not dreams.  One I know was astro-projection.  I thought I was dreaming that I was in my grandparents house, but I realized that it was not a dream because it was their house, but the belongings in there were not theirs.  They had been deceased for a while but I could physically feel myself walking through the house and touching things that were there.  I woke up and realized what had happened.  That was one creepy feeling and I'll never forget how that felt.

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?

I won't be home, my best friend is having a party.  But in my condo complex there are only 2 kids that I know of.  It's mostly singles and seniors so I don't think it would be worth staying home for anyway.  I do hand out goodie bags of treats to all my co-workers in my office and the office next door and I out out bowls of treats for the students.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?

Yes, my best friend who lives an hour and a half away is having a party.  I don't get to see him too often and I'm very excited about going.  We also had our office party yesterday.  I won 3rd prize for my costume and we had a halloween card making contest too and I won second prize for that too.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Your answer to #4 gave me the chills. What did you dress up as that you won second prize for? I hope you have a good time at the party.

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?

Ooooh, so many!  Halloween, Carrie, Psycho - I love 'em but not if they're super gory.  You can scare me without buckets of blood LOL

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?

Least favorite - anything licorice flavored, especially those vile Good & Plentys or coconut candy bars, - blech!    Favorite - Any chocolate candy or candy bar without coconut or mint

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?

I love the old black & white classics - Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman - so much fun and so well done (for the time LOL)  Bride of Frankenstein is really my fave - when she comes alive and sees her "groom" and makes that open mouthed hissing sound - LMAO!

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?

Oh sure!  It usually involves me not being able to scream or get away from a killer or killers LOL

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?

Oh, I'll be home - I'm so glad it's on Saturday this year!  I have a ton of candy - all chocolate related.  I even have a few of those icky Almond Joy bars in the mix since I know there ARE people who actually like them ;-)

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?

Actually, we're dressing up at work today and bringing treats for an all day sweets feast - I'm going as a court jester :-)   I'll also wear the costume again tomorrow to answer the door for the kiddies.  I have a Bears jersey and will probably put it on my dog since he looks quite handsome in it :-)

    Great questions!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Bob LOVES the Almond Joys... no matter what size bag or pkg I buy him, they never last longer than a day! - kris
  • OMG, I just saw I posted the same pic you did! Sorry about that! And I'm sure a lot of people love Almond Joys - and they're welcome to 'em LOL eom Kelly Oh!!
  • I forgot about Good and Plenty. I hated those. I sure hope it stops raining by Saturday. We have sure gotten enough rain lately. The Bears jersey on the dog sounds real cute. Hopefully those Bears can win this weekend. Oh yeah, I checked out that station 93.1, it's okay it wasn't bad. There wasn't any metal though. I like Q101, you like that station?
  • I love Good & Plenty! ~i&b
  • Wish I knew ya back then, ingy! I'd have gladly traded all my Good & Plentys for whatever you wanted to get rid of LOL And Miss Bear, I haven't listened to Q101 in ages - years ago, sure! But I think I'm a bit too old for their target audience :-) And you're right WXRT doesn't play any metal but I'm glad you checked it out! eom Kelly Oh!!

Hi Miss Bear.  Thanks for the fun questions.  The Exorcist is a very scary movie.  Martin has the soundtrack of the movie.  I won't let him play Tubular Bells in the house.  I feel like it would be an invitation to...

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?  I agree with what some of the others mentioned so I won't repeat any of those but there are several scenes in Halloween that make me jump.  Especially when Michael pops out behind scrubs and then there is one scene where you think he is going to be and ...he isn't!

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?   Tootsie Rolls.  I was never a fan of those.  They stuck to my teeth.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?  While I've been home sick I've been taping some of the very old scary movies that they never ever show on Halloween night.  I've recorded, Halloween, Village of the Damned, the original Hill House and (Don't tell Bonnie) It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams?   Yes .  Oddly recently I had a dream that I was in a strange Haunted house.  I escaped.  I can't recall all the details.  It was over a week ago. I do know that there were creepy kids in it and odd hallways.

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?  I just bought my candy today.  I'll be giving out what I like, Peanut M&M, Snickers, Lots of assorted Reeses Candy, Kisses and assorted Hershey candies.  The theme is chocolate, chocolate with nuts and chocolate with peanut butter.  Oh and more chocolate.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?  No.  But tomorrow is a school Spirit day and the kids can dress in costume.  The staff also dresses up.  The Middle School staff go all out so I had to whip up an something fast.  So today after school when I went shopping for goodies, I bought myself a black sweat shirt.  I found a Halloween scarf, and I have pumpkin earrings and a light up necklace.  If I have time I'll decorate the sweat shirt with fabric paint.  I'll have to start that soon so it will be dry for tomorrow.  We will have a small class party and I bought the paper goods.  It will be a fun day.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I'm not too wild about Tootsie Rolls either they stick to my teeth. Ever since I had those fillings in the back it's hard to chew certain things.I have a black scarf with skulls and crossbones all over it. It's kind of Halloweeny looking. It's my favorite scarf. ....I had a dream about a haunted house. All I remember is it was dark, you couldn't see anything, there were ghosts flying around and I could levitate.
  • ...also I'm with you on that it could be an invitation to......I know exactly what you're saying.

  • Yes, coin people are mean. I don't want nickles and dimes I want chocolate. The thing is they know when Halloween is so why can't they get candy? lol. You're talking about 'Poltregiest' with that evil clown. That movie was just on T.V a few nights ago on one of the movie channels. I was just watching it. That was a nice little ghost story.
  • Are you thinking of Pennywise the Clown from It? That's my fave Stephen King book ever and the clown in the movie scared the kerap out of me. Good choice, Chris! - Patem111
  • Oh, I thought he was talking about the evil clown on 'Poltregiest'. I think you're right.
  • I Patem, i read ''It'' many years ago and it wasn't my favorite SK book. In fact I had issues with certain parts of the story but I will say I think before I give it a thumbs down I'd reread it since I was in my late 20's back then. Love Pennywise. Scary clown. izi

There was a scene in Jurassic Park that was quite scary. Those dinosaurs are SCARY! LOL.

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?
My least favorite -- the apples with caramel. My favorite was anything chocolate.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween? I like movies that are suspenseful more than scary. For example, the movie Speed with Sandra Bullock -- I was sitting on the edge of my seat during that movie.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?
Yes and I think that my dreams were influenced by the movies and the news. After 9/11, I had dreams that we were being attacked by other countries. After I watched the movie, Signs, I had dreams that we were being attacked by aliens.

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?

Unfortunately, I live out in the boondocks so we don't have children here.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys? No. at my age, I don't get invited to them. Darn it!

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Anything with coconut like Mounds, Almond Joy. Bleah. Favorite thing? Chocolate or the popcorn balls my neighbors gave out every year. I liked them because they were unique and kind of a tradition.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween? Usually too busy answering the door to watch tv on Halloween, so we'll have a baseball or hockey game on.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about? I had a terrible dream about my dad when I was little and it must have really upset me because I still remember it. Then there was the dream about the mashed potato man, who you would stick to if you touched him. After I woke up it was funny but while I was having it I was terrified!

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home? They've got some assorted Hershey's on sale buy 1 get one free at the store, I'll pick up a few bags of those.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys? Just got an invitation yesterday to a pre-trick or treating party in my neighbor's driveway, to get together and see all the kids' costumes. Should be fun!

Thanks for the mid-afternoon break Miss B!

  • Mashed potato man, that is hilarious! Hey Miss B, over on the Y&R program board there's a group of characters on the show that we call The Scooby Doo Gang (not in a good way). ~i&b

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?  Assorted candy -- Tootsie Rolls, Smarties, etc.  We have about 10 lbs. of candy.  Last year, we ran out twice and had to make quick trips to the store to re-stock (our street is Halloween Central).   I'm hoping not to run out this year.

    Happy Halloween

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?  thankfully I can't recall as I hate to watch anything scary or violent.... I cover my eyes whenever I sense danger.

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid?  money (pennies in our day)  Favorite thing?  Snickers, peanut M&Ms

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?  no... this year I'm sure the World Series will be on.  During the day if I have time I'd like to watch Milk which I dvr'd last week.  Australia is on HBO Halloween night and I'll be recording that as well.  I still have Mama Mia, Wall-E, Boy in the Striped Pajamas and some Hallmark movie on DVR as well... I'm very behind.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?  I have nightmares where I'm scared of something and I start to call out.  I try to wake myself up or I've told Bob if he's there to please wake me up.  hate them.  I don't recall what's scaring me now, at the time I do...

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?  I've never gotten any kids at my condo community... so no, didn't even buy candy.  I will go out Sunday morning for 1/2 price Snickers and peanut M&M's... ; )

  • Why is baseball on so late? The WS is always over right before Halloween. I noticed they started the season a little late and are ending it late so I wonder what is up with that. You must be cheering for the Yankees. My guys(White Sox) didn't go anywhere this year :( The Yankees beat all the teams I was rooting against like Minnesota and the Angels.
  • Not sure but the start of the season may have been delayed because of the World Baseball Classic last spring. It's definitely too late, I feel so bad for those guys out there playing in the cold and rain! //Wendi
  • I don't feel too bad for them. If I was making all that $ I would play in the cold and rain too.
  • CC Sabathia has a $161 million contract. For that price, he should be pitching even during a hurricane. ~i&b
  • I'm a Mets fan so don't care who wins, but Bob will be watching... WS is on in primetime for AD Dollars, the almight dollar the greedy pigs! and yes, its WAY LATE IN THE SEASON for baseball... They deserve the cold weather if you ask me, I'd like to see it snow! LOL - kris
  • For 161 million, seriously?? That's crazy. Those guys can tough it out playing in the cold and rain.
  • Am I the only one here with any compassion? LOL You're right, for that kind of money they should play in a blinding hail storm. But I can't help it, even when I watch a winter football game I can't wait til halftime so the players can go in the locker room and warm up. I just hate to be cold so I guess I'm projecting my feelings onto them. Poor, poor millionaires :) Wendi
  • Those football players are running around the field back and forth so they don't get cold. The ones on the sidelines have one of those heaters to stand next to to keep them warm. So they're okay. It's the fans that freeze. I would not want to go to Soldier Field and freeze in that kind of weather, it gets really cold here in Chicago. I'll just watch the game at home.

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?  At the end of the movie 'Carrie' when she is visiting her friend's grave and the hand reaches out of the ground to grab her foot I nearly jumped out of my seat!

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid?  Apples or peanuts in the shell. Favorite thing?  There was a lady around the corner who made homemade fudge.  Everyone beat a path to her door before she ran out!

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?  I'm so not into slasher films, though valleyguy enjoys them.  We caught three quarters of Halloween 4 the other night.  I'd never seen it before.  It was alright.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?  I have but nothing comes to mind at the moment, and I'm good with that.

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?  We go out for dinner on Halloween until the T&T is done.  In our neighbourhood there are few little children and most of our door knockers are well into their teens, which I really don't enjoy.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?  I don't remember the last time we were at a Halloween party.  The last one we threw was for valleyson's grade 8 class ten years ago.

    Thanks, Miss.Bear.

  • I was going to say Carrie too (then thought of Dr. Jykell & Mr. Hyde). Carrie was one scary movie. MM
  • I actually think 'Carrie' is a very sad movie. More sad than scary. I felt so sorry for her.

    Thanks Miss. Bear...

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - I don't remember a specific scene but, basically, the whole movie was scary.

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing? Least favorite thing would be pennies, favorite would be anything chocolate - chocolate kisses come to mind.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween? I've always liked the movie Carrie.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about? I've had a few.  The only one where I actually woke up screaming was that someone was following me.  I couldn't see the face but I heard footsteps, first coming slow and then picking up their paces (just like something you would see in a scary movie). As I kept running, they were running and I knew they were going to catch me and that's when I screamed a loud and piercing scream.  Thank goodness, the nightmare never repeated itself.

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home? Sadly (for me), Trick or Treaters are not coming into my community which is over 55 unless the adults decide to go around  LOL.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys? Nope.  We might go to our 4 and 5 year old nephew's house and see them in their costumes though.

  • I have dreams like that a lot where somebody is following me and I get a creepy feeling. I hate those dreams. I never saw Dr.Jeckle and Mr.Hyde. That's a real old one but a classic.
  • I hope you get to see one of the versions. There were two good ones made: one with Spencer Tracy and another with Frederick March (you might not know of him - a wonderful actor). MM

Good morning all and happy Thursday!!  :)

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?  The final scene in 'The Blair Witch Project' where the girl comes down the stairs in the cellar and sees the guy standing in the corner facing the wall like the story went about the guy who was killing the kids long ago and made them stand in the corner with their backs to him......too freaky!!

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?  Least fav was Mary Janes.....(although I like them now)  Favorite was snickers.....

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?  None in particular......any of the old classic horrors is fine with me.

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?  I had this recurring dream when I was young...had it several times during the ages of about 8-12.  I was with some of my elementary school friends, (always the same friends) and we were at my great grandparents house and they had a cellar and the door was on the back porch and we were trying to get into the cellar but the door wouldn't open, like it was being held shut, then we couldn't get our of the back porch and we kept hearing this knocking and groaning coming from the cellar door......the wind started blowing around us (we were INSIDE) and my great grandfather had tools and stuff hanging on the walls of this porch and they were flying around and we were all freaking out and the sounds got louder from the door, etc.  Don't know why I had that dream but I had it several times over those years!

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?  We don't get any trick-or-treaters where we are....

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?  No, I really don't do Halloween.....it is the anniversary of my beloved grandfather's death......he will be gone now for 12 years and I miss him so much!

    Great questions!  Thanks!

    Have a great day!

  • wow, I'm sorry to hear that your grandfather's passing on Halloween still upsets you so much. You do know that he'd want you to celebrate his life, not mourn his passing... and I'm sure you keep his memory alive on a daily basis. - Kris {{{{hugs}}}}}
  • Yeah, I know he would....it just isn't the same anymore. Thanks for the hugs.....right back at ya! (((hugs))) :) ~A&A's Mom
  • Sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing......What are Mary Janes?
  • I thought mary janes were shoes.
  • Mary Janes are these little taffy like candies in like a maple flaver. They are sort of like Laffy Taffy but harder.....they are not chewy until you have them in your mouth for a bit. ~A&A's Mom

1.What is the scariest scene in a movie you have ever seen?

Um, probably when they pull the butterfly cocoon out of the dead girl'm mouth in Silence of the Lambs (couldn't watch that part) or maybe when the guards walked into Hannibal's cell and found the blood and dead guard (not much for scary/horrow movies)

2.What was your least favorite thing people would put in your Halloween bag when you were a kid? Favorite thing?

Hmmm, black and orange covered candy-those peanut butter flavor things?  they were pretty bad.  How about Dots?  I'm not impressed with Dots.

Favorite?  Well, back then, Nestles Crunch or a variation on a crunch bar.

3.Is there any movies you enjoy watching on Halloween?

Nightmare Before Christmas is an excellent movie and also enjoy the Peanuts specials and there used to be a kids movie about aliens coming to Earth because their planet was out of candy  except they called it "koo-bee"

    4. Have you ever had any spooky dreams? What were they about?

of course but don't feel like rehashing them

    5. What will you be giving out to the trick or treaters if your home?

thought I'd be working ( I will in the morning) so I didn't buy anything. usually don't get trick or treaters but I am in a different building of the apartment complex now.

    6. Are you going to any Halloween partys?

no, went to one last week.

  • Yes, it was those peanutbutter things that came in those orange and black wrappers. I hated those, all the kids hates those and yet people kept giving those out lol.
  • I don't like candies but I kind of like those peanut butter things. I think its because of the peanut butter. They still to my teeth too but I like the flavor so I put up with it. izi
