All My Children Discussion Group
Cat looks lovely in an understated little black dress. So glad she turned around on her entrance - loved the back.
Judges: Nigel, Mary and Toni (WE is not a fan) Basil
Will & Courtney: SAMBA
Fab hips, lifts and ending.
Nigel: when you're not thinking about technique - fantastic. Chemistry - good. Absolutely fantastic.
Mary: Where's Ashton, I feel like I'm being punk'd. Did a terrific job.
Toni: Forgot I was judging so I didn't take notes (huh? I get the sentiment but HUH?). Brought the life of Samba to it.
Twitch & Katee: CONTEMPORARY
I LOVE Mia's routines (thought I went crazy and was gonna say I love Mia?) but at this point it has to be as much about dance as performance. They did wonderfully but this was Twitch's moment to prove he can do Contemporary but he didn't get the chance.
Nigel: Wow, so hard to critique dancing (ya think, there wasn't much) but the performance was fantastic. Danced brilliantly.
Mary: Two best dancers. So much fun - I loved it.
Toni: aren't you lucky you got Mia?She infused funk for Twitch. Also didn't take notes for this routine either.
Comfort & Mark: HIP HOP
No surprise Comfort will excel. Both did a fine job.
Nigel: surprised Comfort is so much better in this routine than her solo (I decided to put all solos at the end) which was weaker. Mark really did good. Not as tight as Comfort.
Mary: You guys did a great job. Comfort does HH so well - Mark great job - unexpected.
Toni: Loved this routine. Opening was fabulous. Rooted in music and beat
Joshua & Chelsea: ARGENTINE TANGO (choreographed by Dmitry)
Fast and furious then slow and sensual then fast again. They worked so well together and have fun jabbing at each other.
Nigel: difficult technique. Chelsea your leg work was fantastic. Josh used his strength (and some bum jokes).
Mary: all translated the right way. New development for the two of you.
Toni: felt spontaneous and torrid.
HALFWAY: I appreciate the judge's appreciation of the choreographers but they are mentioned first in every critique. We know most of the players and what they are capable of AND the Emmy nominations are out already. It just seems excessive of late. Not sure if Toni is a good judge. Sometimes she has great incite and other times she seems to babble about everything BUT the dancers/routine at hand.
Will & Courtney: SLOW HIP HOP
Popping was perfect. Love the story being told and their execution of it - I got teary eyed.
Nigel: Effective emotionally. Voyeuristic. Emotionally together.
Mary: Two tremendous dancers. (she speaks softly) Didn't meet expectations - (then loud) you BLEW ME AWAY. (she always does this and I've come to expect it).
Toni: Great art makes you feel something. (That's a statement. She babbled but said nothing about Will OR Courtney).
Twitch & Katee: BROADWAY
They incorporated their own tricks in. She's fab but he's not the best partner.
Nigel: loved the routine. Twitch shocks and rises to the occasion. Katee there hasn't been a routine you've done that I haven't enjoyed.
Mary: Terrific routine. Pulled that off. Well matched. Doesn't look like work.
Toni: Disagrees. Twitch brings reality from inside out. Katee had problem due to the vocal - should have been a rough approach (after what Nigel said I'm thinking Katee is thinking why did you come tonight bi!ch, lol).
Comfort & Mark: FOX TROT
She can dance when she wants to but this is SO too little, too late. Others have perfected new styles and she's at square one. This also hurts him. He has style and technique when he has a PARTNER willing to do the work.
Nigel: Lady luck walked out. Not good. No chemistry. Amateurish.
Mary: Not gonna get any better here. Nothing was melting together.
Toni: Like a recital. Mark's lines are good.
Joshua & Chelsea: DISCO
She is FINE and he's a wow. The lifts are so difficult and well executed. Great job by both.
Nigel: strength (Joshua) and courage (Chelsea). Both carried it off - great finale.
Mary: lifts are so tough. Dancing your butts full tilt.
Toni: the spirit was there - really pulled it off (now she's just repeating what Nigel said)
THE SOLOS: as I said last week WHY doesn't any of thiese contestants prove their worth by shocking with something new. Something out of their comfort zone. That's the mark of a true dancer and the risk would be appreciated by all. JMO
Comfort: very cool but she talked about technique and showed none.
Will: THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. Finally someone colors outside the line. Wiglorious - the best solo EVER on this show. I didn't want it to stop. Standing ovation from the judges.
Katee: don't ya just love irony? She talks about all kinds of techniques and training THEN dances to a song called Taking Chances and she takes NONE.
Mark: Cool routine for a Contemp.
Chelsea: has so much ability, if she doesn't win they should hire her as a pro on DWTS.
Joshua: Love him - tired of the same old solo.
Courtney: tells a story and uses technique.
Twitch: Nicely done - love the hip hoppers but no surprise.
I think Comfort and Mark should go tomorrow but we never know what the voters are thinking. It's at this point when we see the mini interviews that change people's minds if a contestant is too animated or conceited or whatever. It's happened before. Anyone can go but it SHOULD be Comfort!!

Hi W.E.,
My usual thanks and random thoughts...
I enjoyed Toni's critique's way more than Lil C's. I have a hard time understanding what Lil C is saying. I have an even harder time understanding what it has to do with the dance at hand. However, after having just watched a video segment of Rockula, I fully understand your not being a Toni fan.
How bad did you want Katee to stop banging on the door and simply walk around the wall?
I like a good lift as much as the next person but there was hardly anything to the Disco routine outside of the lifts. I was disappointed because I usually find Disco so much fun to watch.
Joshua's strength has no limits. I was feeling the strain just watching him. Chelsea is an outstanding dancer and it would be wonderful to see her on DWTS.
No doubt, Comfort needs to go. Ditto for Mark. Comfort's Hip Hop saved her last week. I hope it doesn't save her this week.
Thanks again.

PAIRS
Courtney & Will
Samba - Loved the routine
Slow Hip Hop - Wonderful and interpreted so well. ''Emotional'' is the correct word to describe it.
Comfort & Mark
Hip Hop - Isn't it just amazing that she gets this dance in 2 consecutive weeks! I feel so bad for Mark. Talk about bad luck!
Fox Trot - Nah
Katee & Twitch
Contemporary - Enjoyable but not nearly as much as other Contemporary routines.
Broadway - Loved the music but the dance didn't excite me. It just seemed OK
Chelsie & Joshua
Argentine Tango (hello Len!!!) - Loved this routine and BOTH dancers. My favorite dance of the evening.
Disco - I wish they'd drop this style as it's usually lacking. However, this Disco was the BEST I've seen on the show.
SOLOS
WILL - Loved this very different solo. The rest appeared to be the same old, same old. W.E., must they dance solos in their style??
FAVORITES
Chelsie (I'm really liking her) - Courtney - Joshua - Will
