Okay, let me get this straight: The adults who are traipsing around New York are a higher priority to Holdumb than his eldest son, who is going through hell over his significant other's injuries, and his younger children, who are supposedly SO THREATENED by Big, Bad Damian?
The fact that he leaves and goes to New York just proves that he knows those kids aren't in any danger, and that his only motivation is anger towards Lily.

Message: This is the fourth time that Holdumb has blown off spending time with his kids since he came back from the dead. 1. Told Faith he would be home in the morning when she got up-instead he went to the Lakeview. 2. Told cutie Ethan to go get a fudgesicle from the fridge and they would eat them together, instead he went out the door before the poor kid could get back. 3. Suppose to take Ethan to a puppet show, but just because the kid was taking a nap, he blew it off.4. Threatened Lily to have the kids at the farm for dinner or else-instead he decides to leave town. Holden wanting the kids away from Lily is pure spite on his part. And he thinks Damian is a bad influence, I guess he'll think that they spending time with psyco sleaze Molly will be a-ok.
