Additional Comments: Although I love the actress, I have mixed feelings about the character. There's not much to admire in a person who pines after a man who treats her like crap, lets her children think she's dying, and has an affair with her best friend's husband (although there was zero chemistry between them). I sure hope she will emerge from rehab a stronger person who makes things happen rather than just reacting (and badly) to situations.

Message: It's about time....I can hardly wait. Carly loves Jack so I hope she can help him come to terms with Brad's death. BTW I don't see her character as weak, pathetic etc I see her as someone who has given her heart to the love of her life. I also do not see Jack as abusive, blah, blah, blah. Life and love is complicated and I hope they find their way back to each other. The older we get the more we understand that the mistakes we make when we are young do not define us...they shape us into the person we become. I for one hope they have matured enough to forgive and have come to understand the true meaning of love, forgiveness, hope and friendship that is the real measure of true love. They each made lots of mistakes but abuse, I don't think so.

I am really excited about Maura coming back. I tried to keep up with the show all summer while she was gone but, at times I was bored to tears. Having said that, I want to commend ATWT for doing a good job of writing interesting storylines while Maura was gone... yes, I said at times I was bored and felt something was really missing but, I also had periods of really enjoying the show.
I am just anxious to have Carly back on my screen. I am really looking forward to sweeps.

Message: Maura West gets the crappiest writing for a character but manages to make me want to watch her magic. I hate to see what Jean Pissant does to her character but I like to watch her as an actress. I hope she comes back as a stronger character but I am not holding my breath.

I'm counting the days for Maura to return as Carly!!!! She has been my favorite on the show since the first day she hit Oakdale. I'm looking forward to the fallout about Rosanna and Craig and the story between Jack and Carly.

Like Lifetimeviewer, I have hated Carly since she first came on board and took Mike away from Rosanna. I loved Yvonne Perry as Rosanna and found Mike and her a really cute couple to watch. There have been times when I felt for Carly but mostly I loved to hate her. During my weaker moments re Carly, I found her boring. She is not a good nice person. So I too hope she comes back as bad Carly so I can continue to love to hate her!
OTOH, Maura is an excellent actress. Only someone of her talent could stir up all the emotions that have been posted on the board. Love her or hate her character, you have to give credit where credit is due.

Message: I've hated the character of Carly since Day 1. However, Carly does provide good storyline. Thus my hate falls into the category of "love to hate" rather than a character I just don't want to see. I am hoping she writes off both Craig and Rosanna, acknowledges what has happened to Brad, stays out of Holden's orbit and maybe even sends Terri packing.

Well to be frank I really haven't missed Carly, but then I haven't been watching ATWT very much either. Mostly taping and then fast forwarding through most of the show.
I was never a big Carjack fan. I enjoyed her when she first came on but once she became a part of a *super couple* she seemed to lose that *spark* I happen to love in people who are just a little on the bad side.
Like most of the other posters I hope she comes back a much stronger person, able to stand on her on two feet, but if spoilers I have read come true I have a feeling that it won't be long before we see her crying *Ja a ack* and allowing herself dragged back as the doormat for Jack Snyder.

I can’t see liking/disliking a character based on how “admirable” they are. This is a soap opera after all. That said, I haven’t always agreed with the direction the writers have chosen to take Carly and in fact, would argue that she hasn’t been given a decent storyline in years. But somehow MW manages to make even the most craptastic material come alive. However, I do hope the writers finally start writing the strong, spunky Carly that’s been missing for awhile.
In short, I can’t wait for Carly/MW to return. ATWT isn’t the same without her.

Message: I cannot wait! I'm so excited to see Carly/Maura again. I'm hoping she comes back with some fire in her eyes - I'd like to see more than a glimmer of the old Carly - a woman who pulled herself up out of the gutter and didn't take crap from anyone - and I wouldn't mind it if Maura came back with short hair. I always love it when she returns from maternity leave with short hair - the cut really accents her amazing bone structure!

I've missed Carly, flaws and all. I hope she returns stronger...if I only watched ATWT for someone I admired consistantly, I'm not sure I'd find anyone who lived up to that standard.

Message: That's the genius of Maura West. Even though there's precious little to admire about Carly, it's almost impossible not to feel for her on some level.
I'm going to be very disappointed if she and Jack wind up reuniting as a couple. They're toxic to each other. Carly should have learned in rehab that Jack is just another addiction she has to overcome.
