Additional Comments: Carly, snarly as she has always been, will go the extra mile for people she cares about, or even people she doesn't care about but who have meant something to her at some point in her life. Take Mike, for example - I loved the interaction today between Mike's wife and Carly. It seemed so genuine!
Put Janet in Carly's shoes and she would have been all pissy that Mike married someone else - someone young and pretty and that he had a baby with her - even though anything she and Mike had was over long ago.
I do not and cannot see Janet inconveniencing herself for anyone. She expects everyone else in the world to put themselves out for her and she's jealous of the achievements of others, i.e., her sister Terri, for one. She hates it when Jack's family needs him. Parker, Sage, Carly, the invisible JJ...you name it, she hates it when his family that existed prior to her arrival on the scene, needs him. But if Liberty needs anything, then by God time should stand still and everyone should drop what they're doing and come running and do exactly what Janet tells them to do.

Message: I could go on and on about the differences between Carly and Mama Tata. However, the one that's most obvious to me is the way they treat Jack's children. When Jack brought JJ home to raise after the whole skanky Larrabee situation, Carly didn't hesitate to raise that little boy. She loves Jack, which means loving his child. Janet, on the other hand, kicks Parker out of the farmhouse at every opportunity. She treats Sage like an annoying fly she'd rather swat. Janet is heartless and cruel, as well as manipulative and a liar. Carly is one of the biggest manipulators and liars in town. The difference is that she actually has a heart. The only person Janet cares about is herself. I can't even say she cares for Liberty more than she cares for herself, as we witnessed Janet's disgusting bullying of her pregnant daughter.

the difference between Jugs and Carly is that Carly doesn't feel the need to dominate unlike the dominatrix Janet. Carly is secure because she is real and Jugs knows she is faking it and so are those boobies.

Message: Good post. The writers who have developed the characters don't seem to see them like we do. I like Jugs Cleaver less and less every episode.

Message: I think the biggest difference is that ultimatly, Carly has compassion for other people. I'll never forget during the Nick fiasco, even after Katie hounded her for stringing Nick along, when Katie came to her for help in clearing Mike's name, Carly helped her. Sure, she was helping Mike too---but damned if I'd have given Katie the time of day back then.
