That was my thought, too ridiculous to even mention.tj

It's a ludicrous plot development, but sadly, it's been done before. When Alison was pregnant with Chris's child, she wanted to make it look as though she were having Aaron's child. She was able to quickly locate another woman's sonogram just lying around (as are all the medical records at Memorial) and luckily for her, the sonogram was of a fetus of the appropriate gestation age to allow her to pass it off as Aaron's child. She easily switched it with her own because apparently there was no pesky label on the record that might expose her ruse.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. I hate when the show goes down these crazy illogical paths.

This is just one example why the ratings keep going down. The actors are doing their job but the writing is very soapy and lazy. There is no depth to the SL. Switching test results in the hospital has been done a hundred times. It is typical and lacks any unique quality in the writing.

There would definitely be another name on it -- you could clearly see Sophie's name in the top right corner when they looked at Sophie's real one. No way could Cole access records, find an ultrasound with a 20-mm baby, change the name in the top right corner AND get it to Sophie in a short time, with no one seeing him. ESPECIALLY after the hospital just had that scare with Barbara and someone stealing medicine. No security?? Come on.
Not to mention the fact that Paul left Sophie alone at such a critical time when he knows what she's capable of. Of course she'll steal someone else's ultrasound photo! He should have just stayed in the room with her and waited until Meg was gone. Duh! There are so many oversights these days...it's tiresome hoping things will make sense. Bad, bad, bad.

First Paul didn't demand to watch Sophie... do the pregnancy test (sorry if that's gross, but when you're dealing with a psycho, standing outside the bathroom door simply won't do), then today he left her alone to cause more mischief. I mean, come on. Who on earth would be THAT stupid-- repeatedly? eom MaryHatch
Someone who's desperately lying to their brand new fiancee, lol. Paul panicked when Meg showed up & wanted to know what he was doing there, then they went out to lunch, leaving PsychoSophie alone. =^..^=

Yep, there would be the patient's name, date of visit, time, etc. on it....and I know *it's only a soap*, but come on....I'd buy it more if she had Cole create something on a computer and pass it off as a sonogram. This was incredibly far-fetched!! Besides, why isn't Paul asking for a DNA test instead of a sonogram?!!??

You have to wait a while before you do a DNA test and Paul wants the results now!! Even the CVS test requires that you be at least 10-12 weeks along. An amnio can't be done until almost 20 weeks. Also, any test that gives DNA results has a very small, but measurable risk to the pregnancy. So you would only use them if you were in a high risk category, not if you are a 20 something who already had a normal pregnancy. eom/happy

I think it is pretty far-fetch too. In fact it is ridiculous. How does Cole know where the records are kept? Isn't there personnel around to catch him if he did? But then, this is Oakdale Memorial.
