Additional Comments: Were Jack and Brad raised together? And, does anyone know what their age difference is supposed to be? It feels to me like Janet knows more about Brad's high school days than Jack. Where was Jack when Brad was dating and knocking up St. Janet?

Apparently Jack used to spend summers at the farm when he was a teen. Years ago he and Emma reminisced about the crush he used to have on Molly when she was Holden's girlfriend. Why Brad wasn't there with him has never been addressed, I don't think.

Just another little tidbit of history....

Thanks, d. I remember that Brad went to the farm during the summer, which is why he is so close to Holden. I just wasn't sure where Brad fit in. (eom) Mandi

I guess in this incarnation, there's about three or four years between Jack and Brad---maybe while Jack was in college, Brad was off being a football hero and knocking up Janet (who Jack also had no recollection of when she came to town.)

It's insulting the way the writers change history at their whim. We viewers remember things, as we happen to give a damn about this show. (eom) Mandi

ICAM, Mandi. And it drives me bonkers, especially when most of the time, it doesn't seem rooted in anything except fact-checking laziness. Criminy---like there's an appreciable ''age-difference'' between Michael and Austin, that simply reminding us Brad was only a ''year or two'' older would have been such a BIG deal. gallyn

In previous incarnations, Brad was the older brother who was blamed by Jack for killing their father while driving drunk. Apparently this happened when they were in their late teens or were young adults. It was much later revealed that their mother, Dolores, was the drunk driver and Brad had shouldered the blame. When Brad returned to Oakdale in the guise of Austin Peck, he suddenly became the younger brother. Dolores has not been mentioned
