Topic: How good it is

Additional Comments:

I've been out of town for nearly 2 weeks so I've been catching up on all the episodes I missed via tape and the Internet.  It is wonderful that we can view the last view days via ATWT site.  Sometimes it hangs up on me but I've seen almost everything I've missed.

One thing that has struck me in watching so muh in such a short amount of time is how good the show is to me.  I know that there are many who don't like the show or wish it was 'like it used to be.'  I've been a defender for a long time but I have to say when hearing so many negative comments here and nit picking some of my own that I've wondered if maybe it isn't as good as it used to be.  Well, I can assuredly say that ATWT is good - very good!

I laughed hysterically at Katie's latest wedding.  Henry saved the day in more ways than one.  Brad has been marvelous both the character and the actor.  This guy gets better all the time.  I love the idea of him having a daughter and Parker having a love interest.

I've loved seeing Kim - unplugged.  I noticed in an earlier message that people were saying the Vets didn't used to be mean.  There was plently of sniping and backstabbing by the vets in their day.  Kim shouldn't have said what she did to Allison but can you blame her for wondering what it is that attracts Hughes men (including her husband who looked suitably uncomforable) to Stewart women?  She's managing her TV station, supporting Barbara and being a Mother hen.  Why can't Carly and Lily manage more of their lives?  Is it just that Kim has a great husband?

Carly and Jack are semi-watchable when they are fighting with each other. Jack looks ready to blow at every moment because he can't control every situation.  I see both sides to their story.  While I know it is a disaster waiting to happen, I like this unexpected pairing of Carly and Holden.  Both on the rebound, I won't have to root for them to end up together in the end.  I can just enjoy it and hope they move on to other people.  For Holden, this will inevitably be to return to Lily.  The only down side I see is a Lily recast.  They should have gotten rid of this character altogether. Luke hasn't even noticed his Mother is out of town!

Luke, Noah and Amerra's story is evolving at a good pace.  It is slow by today's standards but this pace was par for the course back in the 70's and 80's.  Couples constantly had obstacles BEFORE they got together.  I still wonder what is up with Amerra.  She certainly learned how to apply cosmetics quickly.

The only thing I don't like is Paul and Meg and now poor Mike drug into this.  Sophie was really starting to grow on me and she is being sucked into the Paul vortex.  She will be ruined as a result.  I've gotten over young actor Mike and he works for me. Paul Ryan finally seeking therapy!  He needs to spend about 2 hours a day for the next 10 years on the pychologist couch - his parents and childhood alone should take 5 years or so to sort through.

Finally, another fun and unexpected pairing is Emily and Casey.  Will Casey become her newest boy toy and the newest Hughes to fall under the Stewart spell?  I can't wait to find out.

I too agree except for your dislike of the Paul and Meg storyline. They are on to an interesting story at the moment with Paul, a treasure as the only residing male villian. It's always a stretch how far they will take Paul with his hopeless desire for Meg. I like Mike and Sophie being brought in. This is the best avenue if the soap will not go completely with the lead couple. Now the writers have more room to work. My sister and I are having fun watching we can only hope the continued payback of Meg dealing with Sophie.

  • There is potential with Paul if they deal with his demons. This has been a long time coming. I'm afraid I have a prejudice because I find the actor so poor at his job. Even if this is well written, I don't see him pulling it off. K23

I agree.  ATWT is hitting on all cyclinders these days for me.  I absolutely agree about Casey and Emily.  Would love to see Emily go for it.  Love the older woman/younger man idea.

Really great post, Kitty. I agree with everything you said. AND, I have to say I am so grateful that we can watch ATWT on the Internet now. I have had that same problem with it hanging up, too. Last time, it would hang up when I went to full screen, but was fine on the smaller screen.

Why do people on this board find it odd that Amerra knows how to use cosmetics? Iranian and Middle East women wear lots of makeup, especially eye liner and lipstick which is usally bright red. I bbelieve they have done this since the days of Cleopatra.!!

  • It makes a lot of sense. If the ONLY thing exposed is your face, you would want to learn how to show it off to your advantage! eom/happy
