Topic: From yesterday's show, Kim's inappropriate comments

Additional Comments: I was rather suprised that Kim would tell Chris to extend an invitation to Alison for dinner, and then proceed to put hurl all of those catty remarks at her about 'the Stewart women". (Even if she is still bitter about Susan's long-ago fling with Bob, it was definitely not the occasion to bring it up, and Susan's affair with Bob was certainly not Alison's fault; her comments obviously made Bob uncomfortable too.) Yes, Kim is protective of Chris, but she also has always been extremely fair and gracious. It's one of her most admirable qualities, so it seems out of character that she would have made those comments.

I read somewhere that men, as they get older, lose the ability to control impulses. And I've seen evidence of that. So maybe it's the same with women. However, I think it was just some writer who didn't think it was necessary to keep Kim true to her character.

I was proud of her, especially when she asked, What's the appeal? Kim has had to deal with Susan and her kids for a LIFETIME, starting when Kim was married to Dan Stewart and Susan made their lives hell. I don't blame her for just putting it out there--what is she, a saint? Good for you, toots!

  • Well, part of the problem was that it also put Bob in a weird situation. But overall, it just seemed like an inapproriate venue for her to speak her mind. If she'd wanted to clear the air with Alison, she could have easily done so when Alison was alone, without the audience. I don't necessarly disagree with what Kim said, but her timing was off, as her words put everyone there on the spot. eom
  • What if Allsion invited Kim to dinner and started bad-mouthing Barbara for no reason. It was totally out of character for Kim to behave that way. Bad writing. caj

The sad part is that Kim was great in the Bratie wedding episodes, but catty Kim is better than no Kim at all, and who among us have not had unexpected witchfest?  Get on my last nerve   on the wrong day, at the wrong time, and I will the witch flag fly.

  • That's true. Fluffy actually tried to frame Chris for stalking her, and Kim has obviously forgiven her for that!
  • Dare I ask what an ''unexpected witchfest'' is? I fear it will be quite offensive, but I'm curious, having never heard the phrase before. =^..^=

I agree with what you wrote. As you stated the affair was not Alison's fault. It was between Susan and Bob. So, if Kim has forgiven Bob maybe she should forgive Susan. After all, those of us who have watched this show since the beginning of time know that Kim has done some things she is not proud of. How would she like to go out to dinner and be assaulted by some of her crimes of the past? I found her comments to be rude. It made me like Alison even more.

  • That's true. Sleeping with your sister's husband is pretty bad. eom.

Ungracious is definitely the word for what Kim did.  Ungracious and out of character.  I was stunned.  It seemed to "slip out" so naturally, too, as though she's accustomed to making remarks like that.  Perhaps Bob lives with that all the time?

  • ITA..it was not the Kim I have known since I was 15 (many, MANY years ago) !!!***
  • Exactly! It seemed more in line with something Lisa would have done. Kim, on the other hand, has always been soft-spoken and gracious, and so it just didn't seem like something she would have done. eom
