First, I don't want them together. But as I was watching the split screen yesterday I couldn't help but think they're going to do a story of forbidden love between the two. And as much as I don't want Carly with Holden, for some reason I'm intrigued by this. For starters it's nice to see Carly think about another man besides Jack. Secondly, I find it realistic that Holden is starting to like Carly as a person because of the alone time they're spending together. She's not the big bad monster Jack makes her out to be when he's with Holden. If they play this slow, meaning they do fall in love and don't get caught very soon, lol, it could be an interesting story. Surely things like this happen in real families? lol.
However, I did roll my eyes yesterday when Holden started talking about trust issues with Lily. I wish Carly had spoken up and said "maybe she's afraid to tell you things because of how you always react?" Kind of like Jack. ;)

Message: The only way I will be able to enjoy Holden and Carly if they get some heat from the community for their relationship. Holden and Lily shouldn't be the only ones not liking them as a couple. I want their children to be grossed out. I want Lucinda and Emma to not like it one bit. I want them to get funny looks from people. I want folks talking behind their backs. Because that's what would happen in real life. When people hookup who shouldn't people talk. And people would talk about Holden and Carly.

Message: The only fun I can see in this storyline is watching Jack have to deal with the fact that he lost two ex-wives to relatives.

I'm intrigued by it too and I think it is because of how animated HOlden is around Carly. It is like he is out in the sunlight and not just literally for the first time in years. I certainly don't see them lasting because HOlden and Jack are a lot a like and Carly has a lot of trouble with the truth - even more so than Lily.
I"m not sure this is really forbidden. Is there ever forbidden love on a soap? Carly and Jack are divorced. If Holden and Lily split yet again, I don't see the real issue. It gets messy but then Katie just married Jack's brother so...

Message: I'm not afraid of a Carly/Holden relationship at all. This isn't starting out like things did with Jack or like things did with Lily when she and Holden were teens - you know, that sexually charged air between them. This relationship is beginning with genuine, mature friendship. I'm enjoying their scenes more than anything else on the show. My only fear is that they'll put Carly back with Jack way too soon. I never thought I'd say it but never would be too soon for me unless Jack morphs into an entirely different person. Carly may be a lot of things but she's not mean. Jack is flat out mean and mean-spirited.

Message: Carly needs to remember that Holden is a SnyderMan, just like Jack....and he can be judgmental, petty, and cruel....just like JackAss! So, run Carly, RUN!!!

If they were smart about this (ha ha, what are the odds?) they would keep Carly and Holden's relationship to strictly friendship for now. Yes, let Holden enjoy the time he and Carly are spending together and realize she can be OK, but let it stop there. Then, sometime down the road, bring them together romantically. Bank something for the future, maybe even a couple of years later. That's the way I would like it to work.
