Additional Comments:
You all know that I'm no fan of Katie, but today she touched me. Especially when she grabbed Jack into an embrace after he broke down telling her about the shooting. Then, when she wouldn't see the baby because he looks so much like Brad. And, finally when she went home and walked past the shower preprations and fell into bed. Well done TC, well done.
Oh, and where the hell was anyone who could support the grieving widow? She should NOT have been alone.

Message: I think Katie is deliberately pushing people away. She told Craig and Rosanna to go see the baby first and she'd follow. I bet they waited, but then went home when she didn't show. She told the doctor she wanted to leave the hospital, but told Craig they kicked her out.
It seems like everyone is purposefully being told that someone else is taking care of her.

Message: TC was great today. I thought Katie's reactions & feelings coincided with her reality. What is going on here? Are these writers finally delivering for these actors? Keep it up.

Message: You're reading my mind! I've never thought she's the greatest actress, and as for the character, she's never been my favorite, but her simple, straightforward approach was touching, mature and profoundly moving. But where are her siblings? Why is Craig pawing Rosanna at Carley's when he should be at Memorial? Where is Kim?

Message: I can't help but remember the scenes we used to get when there was a life and death situation at Memorial. There was never fewer than a dozen characters in the waiting room to support the spouse or parent, all anxiously awaiting news about the patient. Bedside vigils defied all known hospital regulations about the number of visitors allowed in a critically ill patient's room. Someone... Rosanna, perhaps.... would have been thoughtful enough to hightail it over to Katie's and discreetly put away the evidence of the baby shower festivities she missed, and Craig or maybe Tom would have brought her home from the hospital. Lisa would have cared, since Katie is Tom's sister-in-law and extended families used to mean something. She would have come in person with food for Katie from the Lakeview kitchen. For that matter, she would have been at the baby shower. Someone (Kim, perhaps) would certainly have located Emma, Holden, Lily and Meg.
Instead we saw Katie left virtually alone at the hospital and then going home alone to an empty house. Sad indeed.

Message: Watching Katie refuse to stay with the baby or look at the baby made me wonder if they'll have her suffer from postpartum depression or perhaps she'll have trouble bonding with her son in addition to grieving for Brad. I'm not generally a Katie fan either, but she got me today, especially when she understood Jack's pain. I realize a lot of people feel Katie is at fault for putting herself in harm's way, and yeah, she was pretty dang stupid. But Henry and his mother are the two who set everything in motion and brought Ralph to town.
Yes...good writing. I hope they manage to sustain this momentum.

Message: Where the heck is Margo at the very least? For all she has just gone through it is heartbreaking to see her all alone. Her husband just died, her baby that she gave birth to herself when she thought she was going to dieĀ is in the hospital, she was just kidnapped and traumatized. C'mon now, she needs her family and friends. I guess that's why Brad will come to her as a ghost - she has to have someone see her through this.
