Topic: Sorry, no matter how torn up Jack is...

Additional Comments:

...he needs to have his license suspended for what he just did to Craig and Ro.  Love him or hate him, the man has a gun and a badge and he's unhinged.  Margo should have her license yanked just for letting Jack continue to hit the streets with a badge and a gun without any sort of counseling or time off first. Even if you hate Craig, Ro didn't deserve to be treated like that no matter what Jack was going through.  I wonder if Jack is ever going to acknowledge that what he did to Craig and Ro today was unacceptable?

And I know that I am biased because I really hate Jack, but on a completely objective level (as objective as I can be), pointing a gun at someone like that is so horrendous and completely unacceptable that I don't think I can accept a Jack revelation if he doesn't at least acknowledge that he threatened two innocent people with a gun that he was licensed to carry while he's holding a badge that represents his commitment to "protect and serve" and uphold the law.  Out of all of the law-bending that Jack's done over the years, this is by far the worst.

I agree that Jack should not have a gun! But I understood where he was coming from and felt so bad for him. He was desperate for someone to tell him it was his fault and to blame him and willing to do whatever it took to hear that from anybody and figured Craig would do it if anyone would. Everyone has been telling him that he is not to blame and it's gotten to him because he is sure he IS to blame. I teared up watching that scene and was so sorry for Jack. His guilt is really pushing him over the edge.

  • Wow! you felt sorry. I was enraged. I don't like to watch ANYONE point a gun at an innocent person, not even someone who is twisted with grief -- actually especially someone who is twisted with grief because they are more likely to not be thinking clearly and actually use the darn thing. In the end, the person may come to their senses, but the deed is done. Jack, the man with the badge, held a gun on his former SIL and a man who he thinks he's morally superior to. Neither of these two did anything to deserve that other than be the target of Jack's grief and rage. If Jack doesn't address this, I am going to have a hard time accepting his ''journey''. Even if you accept the ridiculous premises that doing that to Craig was alright, there's still no excuse to do that to Ro. eom Linny

maybe going after Craig is the start of Jacks' journey. OPD is busy going after Ralph they don't know what Jack is doing.... Jack wants someone to make him pay for what he did to Brad. No one will, so he keeps going until he realizes he is not to blame for Brad's death. (with the help of Carly ;):)

    imo

We've all known for a very long time that the Oakdale police department is made up of idiots - most noteably Jack and Margo.  For Margo to have returned Jack to duty and with his gun so immediately after this shooting is ridiculous!  That wouldn't happen IRL.  And for Jack to accept that he should go back on duty with his gun so quickly is just as ridiculous.  We all know it and the writers know it too - they even had IDIOT June cleavage ask why he wasn't at a desk - so WHY do it?  It wasn't necessary to advance the storyline of him being shaken up by all this - that's so so so obvious!  They have never portrayed this police department as being very worthy of being called that.  Only maybe when Hal was around as if I remember correctly he often chastised Jack and Margo for conflict of interest stuff - seems that now they don't worry about conflict of interest AT ALL!  And Jack supposedly worked for the FBI or CIA or whatever!  WHAT A JOKE!

  • I miss Hal with the OPD. It wasn't as much of an absolute joke as it is without him. (Edward)

Jack should have had his badge taken away from him a long time ago. This was just the latest, and most extreme, example of him abusing his power. But OPD and Margo are a joke so I'm not surprised Jack is allowed to continue carrying a gun and remains on duty.

Jack should NOT have a gun right now, I agree. As much as he could be a danger to others, I fear he's a danger to himself.

Jack and Margo should both be demoted to maybe school crossing guard or better yet patroling the park and writing citations for pooper scooper violations.

Jack's scenes with Craig and Rosanna struck me as a kind of reverse "suicide by cop". That's when someone does something that they know will make the police shoot them, because they want to die, but just can't pull the trigger.

I'd like to think Jack's behavior with Craig and Ro will be what makes him realize he's gone off the rails and needs a break. Of course, in the real world it would be better if he realized he needs professional help.

I agree with the poster who said Jack was looking to Craig for blame/punishment. No one else was going to give it to him. He even begged Katie for it. Those scenes were compelling. Jack is in agony. Too bad his moronic superior (Margo) saw fit to send him back on the street armed. Like she couldn't have foreseen how unpredictable his behavior might be??

There is no defense for Jack's actions. I thought that this scene would be cheesey & trite. I rewatched the scene & I found it profoundly moving. Jack went to the one person would not absolve him of killing his brother. The person he hates more than all others. Jack doesn't want to be absolved. He wants punishment. Who better to turn to than Craig? Craig tried to oblige Jack best he could.the brandishing of the gun was outrageous & unnacceptable but the scene was great drama.

  • I am not a Jack fan but the scene with Ro and Craaig was magnificent. MP really got it across that he was searching for blame. Great acting with few words. Please someone take that gun away from him.

I think that in real life, Jack would have been placed on some sort of administrative leave, in which he would be placed on desk duty and relieved of his gun. This would happen regardless if the shooting was accidental or even justified. I can't imagine it's easy to function as though things are normal after having killed someone, especially when that person was innocent, and even more when that person is a family member.

Jack is out of control with grief and pain. Margo is the fool for giving him the gun back. Jack needs supervision and he needs a mental health professional PRONTO!

Craig will probably mention to Margo just how unhinged Jack has become. Perhaps this is a prelude of Jack leaving the force. Margo is a complete moron, making 2 foolish judgment calls in less than two days: Letting Audrey loose; Letting Jack loose and about, toting his revolver when he should have been temporarily suspended and his gun locked away.

I'm with you...  can you imagine the difference in the reactions if the situation was reversed and Craig had been the one barging into people's homes and waving a gun around in their faces?

He needed to be put on leave yesterday when he couldn't back up his partner. Holden should have gone to Margo as soon as Jack told him that today.

Without a doubt. In real life, most people would be suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress after killing someone, let alone their own brother. Jack is unhinged and needs that gun taken from him ASAP.
