Additional Comments: Just catching the two seconds of Carly's return it was enough to reinforce just how beautiful & stunning MW is. Even the tone of her voice is perfect.No matter how idiotic or destructive her absence story lines have been now that she's back it's always great & now hopefully ATWT will capatalize on this very powerful story & he ratings will follow.

I'm trying to figure out why I'm not more excited about Carly coming back. I think maybe I've enjoyed the more variety in the plot lines since she's been gone. I think that they rely too much on MW to carry the show when she's around. And of course I agree with all who think a Carjack reunion will just be the same old same old.

Carly maybe beautiful and all that but she is not one of my favorite actresses on the soaps. She uses too many phony sexual face mannerisms to suit me. She puts it on too much especially when she talks to the men and holds her mouth open.

To each his own--I think she is one of the best and no, she is not mimicking Marilyn Monroe--far from it.

I have never liked Carly, but I enjoy MW in the role. I see nothing of Marilyn Monroe in her performance, nor have I noticed any heavy breathing in her speech. (eom) Mandi

mandi, I didn't say heay breathing...it's way she holds her mouth that makes me think of the way Marilyn Monroe did.**

I know I am probably alone in this but, I just hate the way Carly talks to Jack sometimes... it is a cross between breathless sexuality and a librarian. I guess I cannot totally explain it but, it does bug me. You all know I love Maura but, I just had to say that.... "am I too late Jack" or some words like that, in her soft, breathless voice... as if they are still lovers or something.

Don't get me wrong I adore Carjack chemistry but, I prefer Carly when she is spunky and tough and not fawning all over Jack.

I also think Maura looks beautiful... but, she usually does. I just have to write though, that I was watching old YTube clips from 2006 and the Simon/Carly scenes and during that storyline when she was first pregnant and not showing much... that is the time Maura was the absolute most beautiful... she was just glowing and her hair was fantastic.. they were also dressing her in beautiful spaghetti strapped dresses, with lots of color. It was as if because Simon was suppose to fall in love with her that they really made sure to make her look as beautiful as possible... they have not tried to make her look that well since.. I mean how many black clothes can one character have? lol

If, by *she* you mean Carly, for the most part it IS effective. If you mean MW, perhaps it's just her breathing and speech pattern.

No, it's not normal breathing of speech patterns..it's very contrived and NO, I don't agree that it's effective.**

To the contrary, she is a great actress.

MW is consistently wonderful, no matter how bad the material. She's not a hit or miss. She knocks it out the park. (eom) Mandi

Phenomenal is the word for her. She brings out the best in whomever she has a scene. She is the best.

As I said, she's good, not great, IMO.**

Even though I complained about Maura and her sometimes speech when she is in a scene with MP.. I have to say Maura is IMO one of the best actresses on daytime.. ever!! She is not just good.. few can hold a candle to her. I think what I love about her the most is how effortless it seems for her... some actresses need to scrunch their faces and really ham it up to for big emotional scene and Maura can do it with her eyes and with subtle expressions.. now that IS an actress. eom

She is indeed lovely. Pregnancy seems to become her. A while back, I was concerned that she had lost too much weight and I thought her looks suffered a bit, even developing a bit of a stooped posture; but she seems to have improved and looks as young as when she first arrived in Oakdale.
