Soaphound, once again I totally agree with you. I cannot stomach either of these characters. Liberty is like nails on a chalkboard to me regardless of what she is saying. Very annoying character. Celia was extremely annoying in my opinion, and I never warmed up to her. Liberty may one day be likeable, but she would need a major attitude overhaul along with a name change. With a mother like that how could you be anything but annoying. My first take on her is overbearing, manipulating and abrasive. I have never cared for Iris either and I think she and Juicy Janet are two peas in a pod. My god, they even look alike.

Oh, SandyB: It's really starting to scare me, too, because this is how I started to feel when they ruined Guiding Light and I stopped watching after 30 years. They bring in trashy, unlikeable characters at the expense of core families and stories. I'd hate to start feeling the same about ATWT, but if things continue on the way they have, the downside will start to outweigh the fun parts of watching. I sure hope not! I like looking forward to ATWT after work and while having dinner. I don't want this TRAILER TRASH to be the cause of that loss!!! /eom. soaphound.

I loved Iris, but I cannot watch this Janet woman. I don't think they are ANYTHING alike! GL did start getting annoying when they brought on Kelly and Morgan and Trudy and Lujack; they were horrid! They've got a few bad ones now, but even Ava and Marina aren't anywhere near this woman's awful league! I think she's totally in a class by herself! YUCKO!!!! fee

Fee, YES about GL! Michael Dempsey as Alan-Michael is/was one of the most BEAUTIFUL men ever to grace soaps. And he was a solid, subtle actor who didn't need to rely on an accent to make him sexy. He just WAS sexy. When they wrote him out, I stopped watching after 30 YEARS--that's how angry I was. I know Michael Dempsey is an experienced and respected stage actor, so I'm sure they appreciate his value in the theatre. But if he came back to GL, I would start watching again! /eom. soaphound

I tried to quit watching when they canned that wonderful guy! But I couldn't! But I DID ff Cyrus (what a joke of a character) and since he was on with Dinah, I had to ffd her and Mallet too. And even Vanessa! I just ff'd every scene he was in, or any storyline that he was in. I was really thrilled when they paired him with Marina, so I could ffd both of them at the same time! (Yeehaw!!!!) I still think AM and Carly would be a KILLER combination! I really wanted him to move to Oakdale and do some Spaulding business, and like set up against the Springfield Spauldings! Shoot! Since PHillip is directing here now, they could BOTH open up something to do that! And hire Carly! They could even both be after her! (Lucky MW, huh!!!) DREAM ON!!!! fee
