Subject: Why ''couldn't he be making more than $35,000''??? How could he not??

Subject: Oakdale is supposed to be a small town with a small police force. I believe NYPD cops don't make much more than $40,000 a year. But then Jack is the ONLY detective on the force in Oakdale and probably puts in a lot of overtime LOL

Subject: My understanding is that cops are always complaining about their low salaries. Where I am they start them out in the low 20s. He's been on the force a while, but if they don't have high salaries (cops I mean), then how would he be up higher than that? As a public employee, I know that it's not easy to get those salaries up there. They NEVER have any money to give people (I know, I 've heard it for 25 years). So, with maybe one or two real promotions, he'd be doing well to be making that much. I always hear stories where cops are making in the 20s. I was giving Jack some! If cops make $60 where you are, they'll probably all be wanting to move there. fee

Subject: Sorry, I was going by Florida salaries! Which are behind all 49 other states in state worker salaries. My giving him $35 I thought was generous! I thought detectives were cops and they all made the same pay! OK, so he's rich compared to what I'm used to! fee

Subject: Where I live..Nassau county NY **** Police Officers in Nassau County will receive pay raises of just over 21 percent under a six-year contract award issued by an arbitration panel Sept. 14, bringing maximum salary to $92,400 as of July 1, 2006.
