Subject: Gallyn, ICAM. The spoiler indicated that this was ''experimental surgery that could save him''. May be it's the ''experimental'' part that requires consent. However, just this summer, Babs was getting a very grown, very sane (relatively speaking) Paul committed and using some powerful POA's do handle both his medical and business stuff. eom Linny

Subject: Well, I'm not seeing what's exactly ''experimental'' about intercranial pressure threatening his brain activity---but who knows. I could almost understand Damian and Lily stepping in financially, or a with a distraught Noah and becoming some kind of legal guardians who could step in and make medical decisions if he were somehow to become incapitated and needed further surgery. But this set up just bites. gallyn

Subject: I just watched. It was as bad as the spoilers indicated. Not experimental...just down right stupid. eom Linny

Subject: Today drove me nuts. Was it life-saving surgery or sight saving surgery? I think it was sight saving, and that shrieking Luke called it life saving in a fit of hysterics. Either way, I don't think hospitals regularly let patients go blind and they definately don't let them die if they have no relatives to give consent and the patient is unable to give consent. That would make hospitals particularly dangerous places for people who have no next of kin. Today was ridiculous- the capper was Damian proposing they adopt. Embarrassing./dandyfop
