In 2 weeks I'll be leaving for VA Beach to qualify for racquetball in my age group(70-74) so wish me luck. If I qualify(at least come in 3rd) I'll be able to compete in the Senior's Nat'l games in San Diego, CA in '09. I'm practicing but I'm not as fast as a few yrs ago-age is catching up with me(73)! I won a Gold medal in Pittsburgh,PA at age 69.

Thanks fee for the topic!  Here goes...I have a question about sex and I don't have any one in my life that I can trust to talk with, so you guys are gonna be my go-to's.  when you are making out with your boyfriend, can you go to far before you want to stop and he says that you can't?  I'm serious about this and I wasn't being a tease, but I got really scared and wanted to stop and he said that we had gone to far and couldn't stop "before the deed was done".  I know I'm an idiot, a jerk, a baby, a b!t*h and more names that I won't repeat, so please don't remind me how stupid I am.  I know!!!!

FYI, he didn't force me.  He just said to quit crying and get out.  I realize how lucky I am, but I still need to know, is there a "to far"?

  • Anytime a girl/woman says no or stop, then the boy/man should stop. The fact that he didn't respect your boundries and tried to pressure you shows that he doesn't respect you and you should not go out with him again. Charlee, he sounds like the kind of guy who would have let the world know that you were easy if you had gone all the way./mm
  • Totally agree with mm. Be careful, Charlee. Raging hormones in both boys and girls can be difficult to manage and control in teens. I respect your 'stopping' when you did. This is not an ok for you to go all the way but if YOU should decide to, be sure to have SAFE SEX! Make him use a condom to prevent STD and consider a form of pregnacy prevention. A visit to Planned Parenthood might be helpful. Once again, this is not a go signal but a warning. I hope that you can remain an absteniece approach until you are married or at least engaged. I know it is hard but a nurse practitioner, I have seen so much heartbreak as a result of sexual behavior too soon. J.
  • One more thing. Boys like to say they can't just but that's just an excuse because they want it so bad. THEY CAN STOP even though they don't want to. J.
  • I don't know
  • Hey, Charlee! Inside!

Well I haven't been doing very much creatively other than reading. I managed to get my passport after waiting for four months for it, but I haven't decided where I want to go with it.

I have to lose weight and am trying to decide the best way to manage it. Should I go on  a Jenny Craig diet or just watch what I am eating and go to an exercise class.

Spring was supposed to arrive March 20/21 but here in the Wet Coast we are still waiting for it to arrive. The warmest we have had is around 50 degrees but then the temp. drops back into the 40's and this weekend we may see snow.

My biggest event was the arrival of a new granddaughter Jan. 21. She wasn't due until Feb. 9 so it was a surprise. She was born at home with the assistance of a midwife and her 10 year old half sister and my son. I wasn't too happy when I first heard that they decided to have a home birth, but everything turned out well, mum was only in labor six hours.  They decided to call her Tallulah Belle. What do you think of that name?

Well that is all that I have been doing the last several months. If I manage to get a week without rain hopefully I will be able to get out on to my balcony and see about putting in some plants.

Sounds like we're all on a self-improvement bint. I have been taking some fun classes. One had to do with digital cameras and there was a follow up on how to use Picasa which is a free photo managing/editing class. I also took a class on self publishing using Lulu and think I'll put together a book of my short stories for friends and family members. At the end of the month I'm taking a four session class on electonic scrapbooking. In the fall they have a course on how to buy and sell on Ebay. Fee, you could probably teach a class like that.

I made a trip to Long Beach, CA the end of March and am going back next week to see my granddaughters' school play, Annie. One, (Julie) is playing the lead in ''Annie.''

We've made our summer plans. Will be going to Wisconsin for two weeks in June and then will go to Prescott, AZ for the months of July and August.

I wish I could say that I had lost the pounds I had hoped to lose but after almost a year of Jenny Craig whose plan I have only been half heartedly following,  I've only lost about 10 pounds.  I guess that's better than nothing.  So much for Kirsty and Valerie and their wt loss.  How about Oprah?  She's looking like she's gained a lot of wt, these days.

I did watch the Memory Keeper's Daughter over the weekend and it was as good as the book.  I really enjoyed it.  The acting was great.  The little child and the older Down syndrome girl were just precious.

My one NY resolution to get my pediatric syllabus all into power point is coming along.  Out of 8 classes, I still have 3 more to do.  I'm having fun doing them but it is very labor intensive.  I'll be teaching in the summer months just part time.

Other than that, my daughter was able to buy a house a month ago and is very excited to finally have her own home in So. Cal.  It was a repo but it's adorable.  Small and cozy but adequate and hers!

Would love to hear what all the rest of you are up to.  Thanks for posting this, fee.

I got my Quantum Touch certification in late February.  I know how to run energy now!  I had a boil on my leg, and ran energy on it for 5 minutes, and after that it was a third as big as it had been before.   The next day it was only half as big as it was the night before!  They say different people do better on certain types of things, so boils must be my thing!  (Does that figure or WHAT!!!!)  I charged my sister's dead cell phone last month, by running energy in for about 3 minutes.  I charged it up to 3 bars, but couldnt make the 4th one!
