Remember last year we were talking about the demise of Honey Bees? Well, they're alive and well in Oklahoma. lol. Okay, do I need to be concerned about this? It's been an extremely cold winter here, but today it's almost 80. Tomorrow will only be 32. Yikes. There's a window next to me and I opened it...screen on. I started hearing this buzzing sound, I look outside and there's about 3-4 honey bees swarming around the window outside. A few hours went by, and they're still there. I have to wonder if they have a nest near by? In the walls? Do they stay in their hives over winter? I know there's not a hive in the front flowerbed where they're at, but I wonder if they somehow came out of the walls? lol. I don't hear them when I'm inside with the windows closed. This kind of freaks me out since I have a HUGE phobia with stinging insects!

Hi, I'm from the amc personal board. I'm home this week and got a bit bored so I started lurking to see what was chatting on the other PBs.
I've gotten rid of bees but only when the nest was hidden somewhere like, under the outside steps. I've never sprayed a nest when it was out in the open so keep that in mind when you read the following instructions.
If you want to get rid of them, find out where their nest is. You'll have to go out and watch them for a while. See which way they fly, to and from. Once you're certain you know where the nest is, buy some bee spry, then when it is nighttime, go out and spray the nest.
You can also get advice from your local exterminator.
A few weeks ago we had a warm day that was in the 60's and I saw a wasp type bee on our glass sliding door. So I assume that all different types of bees would come out in warm weather just like the skunks and ground hogs. You probably have a honey bee hive nearby, but they will not sting you unless provoked. I am around bees all the time in my gardens and I never get stung. But, I did get stung last year when I rolled up my umbrella on the deck and a wasp nest was inside and I did not know it. The wasp got me good right on the neck. I am not allergic to bee stings so I am not afraid of them.
