I just finished Change of Heart, Jodi Picoult's latest book, last weekend. I couldn't put it down. As usual, she has written another extremely thought provoking story covering murder, child sexual abuse, medical issues, the death penalty, religion, politics and certainly some mystery! It was number one on the New York Times best seller list last week. Just thought I'd let you book lovers know.
I'm now reading a Tom Perotta book, The Abstenience Teacher, and it's ok, not as interesting as Jodi's, but worth reading. It's about a rather liberal sex ed teacher and a born again soccer coach and his evangelical church and pastor. Being one myself, the later, not the former, I'm finding that the church is not being shown in a very good light. Very unlike the church I attend.
I also wanted to let you all know that The Memory Keeper's Daughter has been made into a TV movie and will be aired on (I think) it is April 12. Check your local listings if interested. I was a great read, IMO, and looks like it will be an interesting show. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Message: Thanks Janie. I've been waiting for a review of Jodi's new book. I know I'll read it soon! I have been slacking lately on my reading. I went to the book store last week and got several books and forgot to look for 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter'. I meant to get that one! I did get 'Almost Moon' and hope to start it this weekend. I'm currently reading 'Chosen by a Horse'. It's pretty good. I am a horse lover. I also got 'No Country for Old Men'. Has anybody read that one? I wanted to read it before I watch the movie. I stayed in the book store for 2 hours that day and it was so much fun! I just love book stores.

Message: Thanks for the book info, Janie. I listen to books on my MP3 player and go through three or four a week. I listen while I walk in the AM and while I'm doing house work. One that really touched me was Into the Wild a true story about a boy who died in the Alaskan wilderness. I just found out that it was made into a movie last year. AND speaking of movies, has anyone seen Kite Runner? It never came to a theater near me, but I heard it has just come out as a DVD. I loved the book.
