They're making it sound like they HAVE to sell to someone, which I don't understand. WHY would they HAVE to sell to someone? Are they going bankrupt or something?

I know if they merge with AOL I'll drop my yahoo email so fast it will make your head spin! And why are they acting like Bill Gates is the devil or something? I love him to death; HE is the reason I was able to learn how to use a computer! I couldn't even come close prior to Windows!

Hey fee, I really need your advise, but can't post it on a subject line made by me. Could you or someone else start a generic topic so that I can talk about a super personal thing? I need adult people that I can trust and since no one really knows me or my family I feel as though I can tell you stuff that won't get back to you know who.

It's not by choice. If someone bought out Yahoo it would be what they call a "hostile takeover" --- not something that Yahoo wanted. Hopefully this article from Forbes will help explain why Yahoo is a candidate for a takeover:

Thanks, Tosca, that was interesting! This is really sad, as I love yahoo! It's also really sad that the huge conglomerates have to own everything anymore, and that the bigger conglomerates that acquire them, the sorrier the products, work environment, etc., become! fee
