Subject: Sarah Palin is insane?? I am dumbstruck at how some people just hate this woman with such a passion to say things like this. I hardly think she is insane.. you may disagree with her politics but, saying she is insane is so completely over the top, I cannot even believe it. I guess since I do not like Obama very much or approve of most of his policies that it is ok for me to call him insane... I am sure most would jump all over me for even suggesting it but, for some odd reason attacking conservatives seem to be perectly acceptable. eom

Subject: Did you happen to watch that word salad of a resignation speech she gave? Those were the ramblings of a mad person. Did you happen to hear her preposterous statements about *death panels*? Sheer lunacy. Did you catch some of her over-the-top ranting on the campaign trail? Have you read what many of her campaign handlers - the people who tried valiantly to prepare her to look as though she was a viable candidate - had to say about working with her? There's something peculiar about Ms. Palin, even putting her politics aside. eom/D

Subject: I agree with Claire that from what I've seen (which isn't much) Fox Channel seems so obviously biased. So I guess that if people are looking for validation of their views, then that is what they will watch. Just like (from what I've gathered) MSNBC is liberal. I don't watch either as a rule. I do watch CNN but am aware that there is some bias on that channel as well. So I watch it for the news and try to filter out the propaganda. Now I will tell you that I am not happy that George Stephanopolis is not the anchor of GMA. He was the press secretary for Clinton and is still very friendly with people like Rahm Emmanuel, Chief of Staff for President Obama. I'd prefer a host with not such close ties to one political party./mm

Subject: mm, I probably sound like a broken record because I've posted this several times before, but the level of bias on MSNBC doesn't compare to Fox News. Yes, MSNBC has a liberal bias, but they also give 15 hours of airtime each week to Joe Scarborough, former Republican congressman and extremely reliable conservative voice. They also use Pat Buchanan, noted conservative commentator and one-time Republican challenger in the presidential primaries, routinely for commentary. I've yet to see a single noted liberal commentator given a regular voice on Fox News. Fox doesn't make the slightest effort to live up to their *Fair and Balanced* claim. eom/D

Subject: I gave this a lot of thought and I disagree with D that Palin is insane. I think she is too clever by half but not smart - if that makes any sense. She has elevated herself by appealing to the fears, mostly racial, of the far right with her campaign statements comparing Obama to a terrorist and her claims that he might be a Muslim. She continues with claims of death squads, support for those questioning Obama's native born status, assertation that he is a communist (does she even know what that means?), etc. Insane? I think clever. And the far right has given her its approval and heart. Moderate Republicans beware. She is your death squad. eom/silver
