Additional Comments: Just heard Cass in a commercial for Buitoni pasta! How I miss him. What would be unprecedented is for Another World to return. CBS and Procter & Gamble should get together and revive AW. After Guiding Light's cancellation, there is definitely room for another soap. Why not bring back AW instead of putting on a new soap.
I know this is wishful thinking but I know Cass would be back and many other AW alumns who are out of work. I've also seen Alice Barrett in a few commercials and Anne Howard. You could potentially bring most of the cast back and do crossover stories with ATWT so all kinds of characters can interact. My dream would be to see Jensen Buchanan and Maura West duke it out. Ok....I'm dreaming again.

Message: They aren't filling GL's old time slot w/a soap. New soaps just aren't being done--they are expensive, time consuming & take a time commitment that neither the networks or P&G are willing to make. P&G wanted AW to come to an end, they have over 20 soap opera titles in their vault(s) that have never returned. They were behind the end of GL & AW, just to name their latest two to bite the dust, so why would they bring them back? The only way that would happen would be if another entity aquired their library of soap titles, which isn't going to happen. There were serious offers made in the mid-late 90's by other interested parties and P&G's response was to refuse all offers, saying soaps had come to the end of their usefullness & that they had no future.
Now only one of their shows remains in production.
