Topic: Wait, how rich AREN'T these people?

Additional Comments:

I kind of brought this up once before (way back ages ago when Brooke had said something about taking out another mortgage) and didn't get much response, but sometimes I just can't help but wonder how rich the Forrester's are supposed to be.  They are presented as astronomically rich, but can't keep up with loan interest, let alone the principle.  Hmmm...so they can't pay $100 million in a year.  But aren't they collectively multi-millionaires?  There are seven true Forresters not even counting wealthy add-ons like Brooke.  But they aren't even close to being worth $14 million each?

I know these are huge sums, but again, I'm talking in direct reference to how they are PRESENTED to begin with.

I don't know...I guess I just start getting cynical about the storytelling when I watch people who are SUPPOSED to be upper-crust lamenting about how financially strapped they are.  Maybe stick one of them in a tiny ranch home somewhere for a while, you know, to actually represent a struggling business employee.

Yeah I consider them as rich, but not ultra rich, and it kinda makes it seem a little more realistic that they are having money problems in this economy, aint nobody really buying all those evening gowns as much as they used too, so go figure

Message:

The business debt would be paid out of the business assets, not out of the family's personal finances.  It's the business that couldn't pay the note, not the Forresters individually.

  • Oh, I understand that, but in dire straights situations, can't they personally pay it? I find it hard to believe that mega rich people can't somehow manage to keep their business going. --eom. Beezil
