I caught a movie on LifeTime yesterday that starred Ashley Jones as a teacher who gets blackmailed by the Uncle of one of her students. He sets her up, kills her father, and then demands her inheritance or he will use pictures (all very innocent) to ruin her career and chances for winning custody of her young daughter. It was 2008, so a very recent movie. She looked great in it, and when she wasn't surrounded my that insipid mob of Logan woman, and constant 'walk all over me Nick' attitude, I actually could see how good she was. Go figure!

I'm glad this was posted. I, too, watched the movie and thought it was very well done. I was impressed with Ashley Jones's performance. Way to go, AJ! I also found the story very intersting and quite believable compared to the sls we are gettting on B&B.

I was going to post the same thing. She was much better in the Lifetime movie than she is on the soap! But I suppose it is only so much you can do with the dribble the writers give you. She is a very good actress and was very good in that movie. (A Teacher's Crime)

He went along with it very reluctantly, but after her father died, and she was going to have to go through the custody, he kept telling his uncle that she was going through enough and wanted out. Then he found out that his uncle killed her father and he had just had enough, so he went to her and told her everything. She made him go to the police with her and of course, they needed enough evidence for a search warrant, so they wire tapped the kid talking to his uncle admitting that he killed the father. They raced over to his house to find him dead on the floor. Then you see some guy driving off telling someone that they wouldn't have to deal with him anymore.

At the end, the kid decided to move and try to get in to college, and it appeared the she kept her job and that her and her estranged husband were getting back together. (You know how Lifetime wraps up all it's movies.)

I couldn't stand the setup of the movie, so I stopped watching (but I'm going to ask about it anyway!) Did the student collaberate the uncle's claims? Because without the student, the photos alone would NEVER have been blackmail worthy! They showed them both looking under the hood of her car, and sitting very innocently in her car afterward.
