When a storyline on one of these shows is almost exactly like the storyline on another show - not much more than a week apart, one of the shows must go!

On Guiding Light a main character was killed in a motorcycle accident while his friend/ex-lover is laying in the hospital waiting for a new heart. I mean, it was pretty contrived in the first place, but then to see it repeated was just plain stupid! At the very least, if the writers are going to insist on telling the same stories on different shows, they should consider, doing it - maybe on a different station !

Maybe it's me who needs to get a life... watching shows from Y&R straight through Guiding Light, I guess repeated storylines are something I need to get used to. Or turn off the tv and read a book !

I know this is a B&B board but I did not realize that Gus and Olivia(on GL) were ever together. I thought she just had a thing for him.

I used to watch 3 soaps yrs. ago. Repeat SL's would show up now and then.

Are your soaps on the same network? Perhaps they have some of the same writers, or the writers collaborate with each other.

The writers just don't give the fans credit for their ability to make these observations.
