The acting on Ridge's part was ridiculous. If someone really cant shed a tear, cant they just make some fake ones with water or artificial tears? I mean, look what they do for special effects in movies. It would take nothing to make the eyes a little red and put some water drops on them.

I think the lighting and camera folks were trying to help out as well. Ridge would put his hand up to his forehead, then turn into an area where only half his face would be lit, and/or shaded greatly - as if we were to suppose to believe there was crying going on. After 20 years, I imagine the entire crew is pretty experienced at dealing with his lack of range. - MT
