Topic: Storylines You Just Refuse to Believe?

Additional Comments: I have been watching B&B for many years, and some of the old storylines still nag, at me.  One of the storylines I just refuse to believe is that Bridget is Eric's child.  Even though they did a blood test and proved it, didn't Shelia and Taylor have something to do with the test?  I still to this day believe that Bridget is Ridge's daughter, and remember when everyone was up in a roar about the Ridge and Bridget kiss, and think it is because deep down inside we know she is Ridge's daughter.  What storylines in this soap you think could have really went the otherway...

This is not a storyline anymore, however I refuse to believe that Taylor would give Jack away.

I refuse to believe that that Taylor would obsess over 60 year old mama's boy Ridge like she did this past summer, but forget about her now toddler son.

I agree with I&B.   I think it's ludicrous the way Budge always forgives Mama.  Not to mention!   You ALWAYS know it's going to happen again!  There's a proven track record now, isn't there!  I would have thought after that happened the FIRST time that Brooke would never have been able to face anyone, and would have left town for good!

I have no problem believing Budge is Ear Wax's daughter.  My repulsion at the Bridget-Ridge pairing had nothing to do with thinking she was really his daughter and everything to do with the fact that Ridge could have raised her as his own for years, then lived as brother & sister, and suddenly they become sexually attracted to each other.  No way.

The thing I have trouble believing is that Budge could have ever forgiven her mother for screwing her first husband -- let alone her second!  That's just beyond normal even for a saint like Bridget.

  • Wait a minute, I want to get this straight .....you're actually saying you understand Bridget and Ridge being together more than Bridget forgiving her Mother?? Although, this was with a slummy scum scam-artist who also played both of them?? No way, Ridge and Bridget getting together was more out of character and unexplainable, but even more so than that would be Brooke doing such a thing to her daughter, then second would be, Brooke being interested in Deacon! *Terri*
  • Oh good lord...Please do not paint Brooke as the victim in all of this. Brooke WILLINGLY screwed her SIL multiple times and got pregnant. Deacon didn't trick her into anything. There was no scam going on when Brooke was buring up the sheets with her daughter's husband while simultaneously giving her daughter marital advice and pretending to give a damn about her daughter's feelings. PARENTS don't do that to their children, let alone do it 3X (and Brooke did it twice with Nick). It is completely believable that Brooke would be into Deacon because she has absolutely no respect for anyone else's relationships, not even her daughters. The fact that she had no problem doing it over and over and over again is proof that Brooke is capable of being with her daughter's lovers. She did it once with Deacon, once when she proposed to Nick after she thought her daughter had aborted her grandchild and once again when she gave Bridget her blessing to pursue a relationship with Nick only to rush over to Nick's and plead with him not to get with Bridget because of what they had. The woman is disgusting and I find it unbelievable that any daughter would forgive her mother for such backstabbing ways. eom Linny
  • Terri, I said no such thing. Frankly, I don't see how you possibly got that from my comments. ~i&b
  • See, I just assumed that when you said you were REPULSED by Ridge and Bridget's kiss, that you feel EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of ''understanding'' Ridge and Bridget's kiss. See, to me the word REPULSIVE and REPULSED are negative connotations w/r/t the thing describing it, not positive or even neutral, but that's just me. *sacasm off* eom Linny

I don't have any trouble believing Bridget is Eric's daughter.  And uproar or not, soaps rarely, if ever, go the route of full-blood incest.  I can't speak for anything other than CBS shows, but the only other time I remember it being done, for real, was on ATWT when Angel was raped repeatedly by her natural father (and that WAS considered a big deal in the media and among fans.)

But this would have had Bridget and her "father" willingly kissing and falling for each other.  That's lower than even THIS show would go, IMO.  It was just a gross out because of the massive age difference, and the fact that due to SORASing we all had VERY fresh memories of Ridge holding and caring for baby Bridget and being fatherly toward her.

I kind of refuse to believe that Bridget of all people would instantly buy into the idea of having a surrogate after the last time she was involved in a surrogate situation. The idea would at least give her pause IMO. Maybe I missed that part because I only watch about 5 mins of the show now and keep up on this board.
