I think, if Susan is retiring, this show will be off the air in no time.

It seems that they are trying to turn Brooke into the new Steph and that will never work. Nobody can ever take on that role except Susan. The writers only know how to recycle so much. Let's get real, we've been watching the same old recycled crap for years but Susan makes it work enough to keep viewers. KKL doesn't have the talent to carry on for Susan no matter how hard she tries. I know they are friends in real life. But, Susan can't coach her enough to make it work. KKL is just not that great as an actress. The head jerking alone is enough for people to tune out.

The should would make it in my opinion, but her leaving would be a big blow, the show would lose something special, and the writers would have to work extra extra extra hard to make the other characters more interesting and would have to introduce new ones too.

The show will do just fine with or without SF.Maybe Ms.Flannery wishes not to drop dead on the set.Putting down KKL(Big surprise on this board)is not going to keep SF from retiring.Anyway who said KKL was going to replace SF? No one can replace SF,no one can replace KKL,or RM,or JM.They are the core four.If Susan feels it's her time to leave,then she should leave,and the show be damn.Her health is more important than some 30 minute soap opera.Enjoy your retirement Susan.You will be missed not replaced.

Noone can replace Susan Flannery, least of all, KKL. When Susan Flannery retires, the show will never be the same. Who could be the new Stephanie? Nobody, that's who. I do hope that Pam will be sticking around, but that's not the same thing as having Stephanie. Maybe they'll recast Beth Logan with a really good actress, but of course, that would mean more Brooke scenes. Puke!!

With Steph gone, I suppose we will just be getting more of The Brooke Show. IMO, TPTB should concentrate on using the talented actors they still have left, and giving them frontburner storylines, instead of shoving the very limited acting skills of KKL down our throats.

There have been so many times over the years when I have cringed at KKL's scenes, because her acting was so bad. The same is true for Hunter Tylo. They are both beautiful women, but neither one of them are on the same level as Susan Flannery, talent-wise.

If TPTB are smart, they'll give front burner storylines to Katie, Ashley and Thorne, each played by terrific actors that haven't had enough screen time.

I'd also like to see more of Clarke! He always makes things interesting. And I'd like to see C.J. return.
