Re: JKJ's/Phillip's Hair-Here's The Deal..now, ive never seen or met this guy in my life, but i can honestly say that from a 100% reliable source that the blackening and darkening of kiriakis's hair is intentionally character driven and part of TPTB's at DOOL long-range plan for the character...and its probably one of the most subtle things DAYS has ever done, lol.
jkj does like it and it is part of his real life musician image, but, here its actually part of DOOL's longrange plan for the character...See: When Kyle Brandt was replaced in the roe of Phillip by Jay for his second stint at playing Victor's son, JKJ signed a three-year contract(which i *think* was recently extended) TPTB's longrange plan for the character was and is:
Initially lose a little of Phillip's tough guy, brutish, army soldier edge that Kyle used and portray the returning Phillip much more as the younger (jay's first time) version...noble, vulnerable, light colored clothes, soooo sincere and feature jay's natural light, blonde, blonde hair...all so they could take the character on a long, extended road - a dark path - that would slowly and see him become much darker, much more closed off emotionally and much more the son of Victor...and a character that would slowly lose sight of just what moral lines a person shouldn't cross to get what they want...to make him the true kiriakis son...the son that Bo never would have let himself become...
Some Of The Intentional and Preplanned Subtle Signs Used To Show This 'Slow Dark Journey' :
The gradual darkening of his hair.
The dark suits and severe-looking outfits (almost all black)
The growing cynicism and bitterness...the fact that he almost always (and more so lately) has a drink in his hand (of course, doesn't every days character drink in like every svene lol)
JKJ in interviews has talked about how Ken Corday talked to him when luring him back to the role about this extended plot for the character and that it immediately interested him and that he's been having 'fun' portraying it...
I think he's been unbelievable at it...and his hair could be orange and filled with mud and JKJ would still be smokin' lol.

I didn't watch Days when he was first on. I started watching again while the other Phillip was on. He was HANDSOME !!! It took me awhile to like this guy and he's really good and playing that character with an "edge". But that hair has to go !!!!!!!!!!! I can't decide who I want him to be with. I'm probably a minority, because I like Chloe.
