South Tx resident here...lived through Ike...sadly, much of home did not...yes, no sugarcoating, it was - and is - and will be for some time to come...horrendous...but still so many neighbors got it even worse and they're who i'm trying to keep praying for and helping when i can...even if its just picking up blown-down walls or sweeping up sheetrock pieces...THANK YOU so much to those here who sent private messages...just catching up - hence the absence - as power - and ac - only came back here a couple days ago...and man was that miserable lol
So much to do here and for others...but DOOL and this board is already serving as a great distraction as i just can't be in 'tragedy aftermath' mode 24/7 and need an occassional break...and, catching up on DOOLS past 2 weeks the past couple nites thanks to a vcr and the tapes family in iowa sent to me has been a blessing.
So...as I get ready to commence the ol posting of thoughts and queestions and theories again please all keep that feedback coming...it really does help...
And thanks again everyone . . .
