Additional Comments: EJ finds out he's Sydney's biodad. He sues for custody, taking revenge on Sami for deceiving him over Grace. He wins custody, because the judge decides that Sydney belongs in the only home she has ever known. Somehow, EJ and Nicole reconcile and stay together and presto! - Nicole gets to be Sydney's stepmom.

That would make perfect sense, because Sami does have too many dang kids for a female soap character. Plus, we all know she will have to have a kid for Rafe, so Sami being a "step" mom makes sense in order for Sami to appear less like an Octomom.
However, she can't be a stepmom, because she is not married to EJ.
