Just wanted to say hi!

It's been ages since I've been around... my baby is 9.5 months old and only now am I finding some time to come in and post!  I should be around more often now!

I hope you're all well!  I have been reading about Romy and she is in my thoughts.

I go back to work Sept. 8.  Part of me looks forward to it, part of me is sad.  I knew that we'd have to do this, put Alexander in daycare, but it is hard.  But, I'm trying to be as positive as I can, it is what it is, it isn't changing unless I win the lottery!  I am grateful I've had a year with him, and I'll be back at work only a year or so before we'd like another baby, and then I'll be off again, so it's not so bad.   Some socialization will be good for him too, he's so attached.

He really does make us so happy and proud.  He's a curious, sweet little boy, with a sweet, shy smile, loves cheese and bananas.  He doesn't crawl but wiggles around, and seems to want to stand more than anything.  I sense he's going to walk early! 

We're at the stage where every day there is something different about him.  Today, he clapped for me!  I've been trying to teach him that for ages.

He has 2 teeth, bottom middle, about halfway in.

Woo hoo!  We missed you!  And Alexander is beyond adorable.  Now that you'll be going back to work, can we expect to hear from you more regularly?  LOL!  (I post primarily from work.)

    Motherhood certainly is busy, isn't it! Those first several months are so hard, IMO. Not having sleep is the worst! ha Anyway, I'm glad you're back!

  • Thanks, and how are things going for you? Yes, the first few months are the hardest for sure. I thought I was *so* prepared and still I was thrown for a loop. He sleeps much better now and that helps tremendously, and so does just getting to know each other in general! (HC)

  • Hey you! Thank you! People say he looks a lot like me, but the older he gets, the more I see hubby too. He's a real mix, I think. You're right, there is plenty of time left and we intend to enjoy the summer! It's just a shame you have to start organizing childcare so early, when you don't even want to think about it :-( (HC)
