Additional Comments:

My daughter who miscarried had announced it "officially" on Facebook two days before she miscarried.

I've temporarily shut down her facebook, but she's still getting congrats phone calls from high school and college friends, etc.    She wants me to post something on her page, letting people know what happened so they stop calling.   Help.  I'm at a loss.   She's a crying mess.   She wants me to say it's me and post something nice.

Facebook.    Ug..   Is this even a good idea?????   help?????

This is Jen's mom.  She has asked me to let all of you know that the baby she and [SIL] so eagerly announced is not to be.  As you might imagine, Jen is not up to posting this news herself but wanted to convey her heartfelt thanks for your support and good wishes.  Please continue to think of her and [SIL] during this difficult time.  Thank you.

Thank God she has a sister.   I'm so not good in a crisis.   I called her Sister, Sissy called her and talked her out of putting up a status update for all the hundreds of friends she has, some that she hardly knows anymore.

Her sister, in all her wisdom, reminded me that not only is she going through the grief of a miscarriage, but she may be a bit post-partum as well.    Her milk did come in and she's engorged.   Her hormones are going crazy.    She hasn't even talked to her husband about doing this yet.   He's back to work, leaving her home alone to grieve and go a little crazy every minute she's alone.

She's got to call the doctor and make herself better, and not worry about her old high school and college buddies.....

I'm thinking this is good advice.   I owe you all a recipe box.

All, this is Jen's Mom.    Jen was so very excited to finally announce her good news on FaceBook last week, but shortly after, her little baby became one of God's angels.     Please keep Jen & Mike in your prayers through this difficult time.

    Does this sound OK?

Well, you had me on that one...thank God for Google...

I found a forum where someone said she posted, "We were expecting a baby, but we had an angel instead." I thought that was really nice and to the point. So...

We were expecting a baby, but we had an angel instead. We appreciate your prayers.

I think that will pretty much sum it up...

  • Oh, and according to the forum I was looking at, it is a good idea. It stopped friends from asking about the pregnancy or any plans for showers, etc. The women who wrote seemed to be happy that they wrote something on FB. And again, I'm so sorry...eom (ML)
  • ML -- I think we were separated at birth. Will you be my MediaDomain sister? I was reading the same thing..... Nicky
  • I think she's looking to be acknowledged. It's like a death without a funeral. I think she thinks everybody just wants it to pass. I personally would not want flowers, etc. but I think maybe I should tell family and close friends to start sending cards, flowers, etc. to make it feel more real. I think she needs this. Nicky
  • From what I understand, it's a very, very tough thing like no other. And everyone reacts differently to everything. I believe I would need to make sure that people understood it was real. I know people who cry many, many years later about an angel of theirs. I hope she finds comfort soon. eom (ML)
