Hockey isn't a big deal here (too hot) although OKC does have a minor league hockey team.

Here it's football, football, football; college and pro.  Then basketball once football is over, right after the holidays.  This year OKC has an NBA team again, after a year long break, so I'm sure basketball fever will abound, although the team is likely to stink.

I like sports myself, and although I don't care for hockey (except Olympic hockey; I always watch that) I would be thrilled with courtside NBA tickets or 50-yard-line University of Ok football tickets, especially for free.  So I can relate.

  • The only professional sports I can stand to watch are gymnastics, skating, tennis, volleyball and swimming, the rest just don't hold my interest at all. eom -Nicki

I can relate!  Hubby just found a way to get some Notre Dame football tix for Saturday's game.  He spent $139 for 2 tix.  Yay.  I'm thrilled.  Oh, and he wants ME to go with him.  Ugh.  I hate football.  I might have to fake an illness so he takes his buddy instead.

  • Football....BLAH!! I don't get that game as much as I don't get hockey!! eom -Nicki

I'd be thrilled. Even if it was for a Laughs (ooops I mean Leafs) game!

I don't get to many NHL games due to my location, but my dad lives in Windsor and I will be going to visit him again this year. He knows an usher at Joe Louis Arena who has season tickets. She's got great seats. When I lived in LA I used to go to games by myself.

Hope your hubby has fun. What team are the Canucks playing?

  • LOL! I have no idea....I completely tuned him out....I'll ask him though later when he gets home from work. eom -Nicki

I've never been to a hockey game and that's okay with me.  Don't know a single rule for that game!!  I've been to football games and baseball games.  I hate baseball!!  The most boring thing in the world!  I always took a book which peeved everyone else to no end!!!  At this point in my life I don't feel the need to go to any sports event!!  Been there, done that...all done!!!  LOL

So, where are you going on vacation?  I think we are probably staying home for Christmas this year as we did last year. It just seems like such a huge hassle to go at Christmas time.  Maybe we'll go somewhere in January instead.  Are you going to a beach?!?!  I want/NEED to go to a beach soon!!!!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Fuzzwuzz, we are torn between Hawaii (AHHH ..the beach!!!!) or Disneyland California (because the son has never been there before) and I want to take him to all the attractions...so no idea yet! ...The funny thing is I want to be gone for Christmas this year.....all of our friends will be out of town and even my parents are going to be away for a few days....so either way we would be spending it alone......eom -Nicki

I hear ya, Nicki!  Hubbylifetime and drumson are such huge fans they're like walking hockey encyclopedias!  I've really tried hard to get into hockey for their sake but...

Drumson has even created a family fantasy hockey league.  (He and hubbylifetime already participate in a fantasy hockey league.)  It is hubbylifetime, drumson, goodnight nurse and me.

  • Family fantasy hockey league! wow! hehe! ....sounds like something up hubby N's alley...the son wants to go so badly with him, but there is only one ticket for hubby N....he has promised him he will get tickets for him and the son sometime in the future. eom -Nicki

That wouldn't be the case in my house!  LOL.  I'd be the one going on and on... hubby would be all "meh, whatever".  I mean, he'd like to go, but it wouldn't be a huge deal for him.  He isn't that into sports.
