Quarter new potatoes and set on a large rimmed baking sheet. Lop off the very top of each garlic head and arrange throughout the potatoes. Drizzle olive oil over the tops of the garlic and all over potatoes; do the same with the wine. Generously salt and pepper potatoes and garlic. Toss potatoes to coat. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 375 for 45 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for 20 to 30 minutes until nice and golden.

I hope you feel better soon, LisaP!
I have made roasted potatoes before, but never with wine. I will have to try that!

Lisa, I haven't had time to post much lately but wanted to pop in to tell you I'm so sorry you are sick! Bless your heart! Thankfully I haven't had flu in years but I can't take OTC medicines either. The times I did have a bad cough and couldn't sleep I got some children's cough medicine from my health food store and had no side effects from it. I also wonder if you have a deep lung cough why your dr. can't prescribe something without the ingredients you are allergic to. If nothing else, try a hot toddy before going to bed, a shot of liquor, hot water, lemon & honey. And eat some comfort foods, and what gives you strength. I wish I could bring you some hot soup or a pot pie!

i haven't heard any vomiting w/H1N1. when my son got sick and threw up it was from the spike in fever from the bad ear infection and i believe, the taco bell his father fed him!
but he did lose 20 lbs. this whole month starting from the 1st illness of tonsillitis. you have to force yourself to eat!!
and LOVE your recipe. i actually chop up a bunch of cloves of garlic and spread it over the potatoes with the olive oil then sprinkle parsley. ooo red potatoes are good too!
eat more garlic for your immune system!!

I just came in here to empathize with you. I've been sick for over a week, worst flu ever. I may have the swine flu, who knows? Since I have no insurance, I finally broke down and went to the clinic for antibiotics and some wonderful Ibuprofen. For days, I've been so feverish, it was terrible. Couldn't even sleep, even though I was weak and tired. Then the sore throat that about killed me. Then once that faded, the coughing, coughing, coughing. When will it end! OMG! I'm finally feeling like it's on the way out, but I have absolutely NO energy whatsoever! When you are sick, you can't remember what it was like to feel healthy. Was I always this lazy? LOL Get well soon!
(since that was a rant, here is my recipe for chicken noodle soup that I've learned this past week. Get Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup, and pull off the lid. Pour in big bowl. Cover lightly with plastic wrap. Nuke for 3 minutes. Eat. The end.)

I'll trade you my vomitting and nausea for your fever and cough. I threw up Sunday out of the blue and have been nauseous constantly since. I have no appetite and have been surviving on the meds my doc gave me for acid in my stomach (from stress) and Pepto Bismol and Gravol at night. I had to go to the doc on Monday to sign my papers so I could go back to work yesterday. He said I'm still stressed and depressed, but yet I feel okay! (The nausea feels the same as four weeks ago during the first week *after*....so it's confusing to go three weeks feeling better and then have a relapse?!?!?) I was okay going back to work. It's so frustrating and annoying to feel so nauseous when I want to be here! He said that your body does funny things. And NO, I'm NOT pregnant. That would be one helluva joke, eh?
Recipe:
Take Pepto Bismol out of fridge. Shake up. Take two shooters of the pink stuff. Works fast, but doesn't last long! lol

I've made those potatoes many times, they are delish!
Lisa, unfortunately, it's not uncommon for H1N1 symptoms to recede and then come back. I know it sucks, but hang in there. Just think of this as your chance to relax and take a break from all the running around. Take a nice bubble bath and give yourself a pedicure!
