Additional Comments:

The hospital is no longer there, but I'm about 6 or 7 miles from where I was born.

How far away are you?

Message:

The hospital where I was born is still there, although the part of the building I was born in is now used for offices or storage or something; the building has been added on to dozens of times and is way bigger than when I was born there.

How cool is this?  Both of my kids were born there, too!

I now live about 15 miles away.

Excellent topic!  I haven't been around much lately so I am just now replying :-)

The hospital I was born in was torn down many years ago. A Village Pantry is now there. I live about 8 miles from it.

Just 38 miles down the road, still in western New York state. The hospital I was born in used to be an old mansion and now is a parking lot for the fire hall.

I'm a little under 300 miles from the hospital where I was born. I was born in Northern California (about an hour below the Oregon border). I now live in Merced, CA.
The hospital where I was born, I think is now an assisted living facility.

According to Mapquest, I am 1001.56 miles from the hospital (St. Francis in Hartford, CT) I was born at to where I'm currently living (Manchester, TN).  16 hours and 46 minutes...seems about right :)

Best thing about where I live right now is it's only an hour south of Nashville!!  Since I became a fan of country music back when I was 10, I always said I wanted to move to Nashville and I'm pretty close now :)  LOVE it!!

I currently live about 20-25 miles from where I was born. The hospital became an apartment building many years ago.   I moved to St. Louis when I was just out of college and lived there for 21 years.  I moved back home when my parents became ill and elderly so I was able to assist them and keep them in their home until we lost them both after long illnesses.  I moved to the next city up the highway because my sister and her husband and grandgirls are in the area.

I'm probably about 2 miles from where I was born.  The hospital is still there but they've since expanded and the section I was born in is now a community health clinic and specialty clinic.  The expansion is still part of the building but people now give birth in the new section.  It would probably take me about 3-4 minutes to drive there.

About a 5 minute drive or so. The hospital is no longer a hospital, but is being turned into a elderly home.

Even though I live in the same metro area I do not live in the same city I was born in. The city I live in (Thunder Bay) used to be two separate cities (Fort William and Port Arthur). The two of them merged in 1970 and I was born in 1968 in Fort William. When that happened some street names had to be changed as there were some duplicates. There are plenty of people here who still see it as separate cities...or areas at least. It's somewhat of a mess as a lot of municipal offices are either in one side or the other, with the intercity area filled with mostly shopping malls/centres.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Interesting about the 2 cities merging. A 5 minute drive is pretty close! /sulla
