I think that this has been a great stretch for GH.
The focus of families and relationships have been key.
The relationship between Luke, Lucky, Liz, Nik has all made for great watching.
Dante, Olivia, and Sonny: Can't wait for the truth to come out.
Lulu and Dante are great.
And the Aftermath of Claudia has been very interesting.
Its been good watching Lately. I think James Franco will made Claudia's aftermath more interesting.

Luke hasn't been part of 'family' for a very very long time. It isn't just the Spencers either. It is ALL of the families on GH, and on soaps in general. Where are the Hardys, the Q's, etc.? They are either non-existant or they are shells of their original self.
Nik needs to know Luke and Scott were NEVER best friends at all--more like acquaintances. (Luke sarcastically called Scotty 'the little prince' behind his back). They came from completely different backgrounds and had nothing in common except a few friends and evenings at Luke's disco. And finally Laura, of course. Luke grew up on the streets, started running numbers for the mob in his teens, but longed for a better life. Scotty was a succesful lawyer's step son and was in law school. He was a bit over-confident about Laura, who was too young and self-absorbed to be the wife he expected. It took Luke to mature and widen her views of life. They fit perfectly.
But believe me, lumpy Nikolas is nothing like Luke and Lucky is not that young, chauvenistic, good-boy Scotty. And Liz is certainly not Laura. So I do hope they don't try to redo history here. There was and could be, only one Luke and Laura.
