Topic: Guza turned loose again...this time on Franco ([possible spoilers)

Additional Comments: For just a couple weeks there, GH improved and it seemed someone else was writing GH, someone who cared about families, romance, veterans, humor--but it was a short two weeks.
I had never heard of Franco (guess I don't go to the kind of movies he makes), and I was mildly curious, but when I saw Guza is in full charge of his story, I knew it was doomed. How will Franco come on? Well, of course. He comes on this evil, psycho stalker. He will be written into a corner in no time. Even if he was sticking around (which I assume he is not), he'd have to be killed off in another of those bloody, dreary, violent, slo-mo scenes the writers and the producer love so much.
I was SO hoping he would arrive as a ray of hope, an FBI man who cleans up crime in PC and gets us back our show before he bows out. But of course, I knew better. That won't happen until Frons and Guza are gone. I had hopes with Dante, but nope, he is Sonny's son, so he won't be the one to clean up the town.
You know, these kind of stories must sound like marvelous opportunities to new actors--'oh, boy, I get to play a dark, mysterious menace...wow'--but in the end, it falls flat with an audience so weary of the mob, the up-side-down ethics, the gloomy stories, the dire situations and the slimy people who inhabit them.
Sorry to be so pessimistic, but when I heard the plans for this actor, I sadly shook my head....

Message: This story was bound to fail simply because it is just another plot device. It isn't about storytelling, whether Guza has anything to do w/it or not. It IS about stunt casting & the 'get' of having Franco for a few weeks--which is barely as long as this story will last. The second he fades to black, so will any reference to the story! This is just another non-story, w/the only 'twist' being that a 'movie star' has decided to 'slum it' for a few weeks, claiming to want the 'challenge' of doing a soap.

Actually the rumors are (wubs) that the Franco story is what impetis behind Jason getting out of the mob.

James Franco signed on for only 2 months because of his film schedule. It is rumored that he wanted to try soaps because of his work in an upcoming film. He is very well known in movies and has won a Golden Globe. GH wrote the role especially for him and some of the other stories that we've heard about, such as Helena's new story, have been pushed back to the end of this year or the beginning of next.
