One of the things that's bugged me since the "Jerry-hiding-DVDs" and "Jax finding out about Jerry" is that GH really changed the history here. Now, it seems like everyone has accepted and Jerry has even admitted to some extent that he was "in on" the hit on Sonny.
Besides having knowledge of Claud's intentions and plan to use of Devlin, I specifically recall Jerry telling her that he had no intention of having any part of that shooting because it would hurt Carly that her kids' dad was killed and learning that Jerry and by extention Jax had any part in that would harm their marriage. Jerry didn't want to do anything to hurt his relationship with his brother.
I thought the recording that Jason heard with Claud/Jerry/Devlin was contrary to what Jerry was telling Claud at the time she was cooking this thing up. BTW, I figured that the writers' point in having Jerry be just outside the plot was to try to keep him redeemable in some small way (mostly because of Alexis). I really dislike this rewrite. Jerry was guilty of A LOT of things--just not direct involvement in this shooting and it bugs me.

Message: That has puzzled me, too. I was sure when Claudia came to Jerry to hire him for the hit on Sonny, he turned her down--and for the reasons you said: that it would hurt Jax and possibly Jax's marriage.
When Carly goes on about Jax saving his brother, putting his brother first, I couldn't quite get it--Jerry didn't do it. In fact, he liked spooking Claudia about it because he knew about her doing it and she was now married to Sonny. The irony appealed to Jax.
I guess Guza wanted to break up another happy couple, so he rewrote the part about Jerry being not involved just to give Carly something else to hang on Jax. I have not seen Jax behave unethically in this whole mess, unless it is to try to keep Dante on the case when Olivia so clearly wants him off the case.
He has shown great caring and responsibility for both Michael and Morgan--the kind of caring they need. Sonny giving Michael a car after one of his rages, Carly getting him a license, Sonny giving Krissy money to sooth her guilt after she ran Claudia off the road, and now hustling Michael from the crime scene and covering it all up--all acts of a terrible parents! There is no way to actually protect Michael from the fall-out of this last act of murderous rage. But the kid need help and therapy, not coddling.
I guess Guza may be trying to make a public statement about the consequences of spoiling kids and rewarding their awful behavior. Maybe. The problem with that is that on a soap it takes a long time to play out and the lesson isn't likely to come across for some time. The casual viewer doesn't get the complete cause and effect.
Sonny likes to think is is 'taking care' of his kids and he is ruining their lives instead. And Carly is his enabler.

Message: Jerry & Jax have had their histories rewritten several times, & not well. It has been an insult to the audience every time!

Message: Finally, someone else who noticed the re-write. Jerry was very clear about not participating in a hit on Sonny. Now he is as culpable and Claud and Ian. Then again, how else can Carly trash Jax, if Jerry is not the devil? Jerry has done many rotten things, but on this one occassion, he stayed out of it, and in fact, tried to stop the hit when he found out Michael was with Sonny.
